THE POWER OF CHOICE
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
Deuteronomy 30 19 NKJV
As parents, we possess a great power - the power of choice. Have you stopped to think about that power with intricacy before each choice you‘ve made concerning your children? What about the choices you’ve made for yourself that inadvertently affected your children? Our choices determine our children’s path, shaping their future and ultimately defining their lives. The choice that Eve made in the Garden of Eden had a profound impact on all of humanity. Her decision to disobey God’s command affected her and had a ripple effect that has been felt throughout generations. As a result, we can see the importance of making wise choices, as they can have far-reaching consequences that affect us and those around us.
Many of the trials and tribulations we faced in life resulted from choices made by our ancestors that led to covenants and altars established in our bloodlines. These choices were not necessarily made maliciously, but some of our ancestors entered agreements with deities to pursue protection, provision, justice, etc, for their children. Spirits transact by covenants, and God almighty is a respecter of covenant. Psalm 74:20 Any agreement you enter that is counterfeit and outside of our covenant with the blood of Jesus will give satan legal authorization to access you. Not just you but your children and many generations after until someone rises as the bloodline breaker to enforce what Christ did on the cross here on earth, putting our lineage back in the hands of the Father.
One of the greatest factors affecting our decisions concerning our children is the concept that our children belong to us. The truth is they don’t belong to us. They belong to The Father, and we are their loving custodians here on earth. If we cultivated that mindset, our decision-making would be preceded by a consultation with the Holy Spirit, reminding the Father that we are conscious that the children that came through us are genuinely His. We are grateful for the honor and trust the Father has with us to raise HIs precious children. That guidance from the Holy Spirit will secure our children’s present and future. Making a decision outside of God’s plans leaves them in danger of being susceptible to satanic hostility.
Even the smallest choices we make can profoundly impact our children’s lives. It could be as simple as choosing to wake up earlier in the morning to pray for your children and have Bible study with them or getting a few more minutes of sleep. That morning, sacrifice raises an altar for them that will speak for generations. We have to choose to think more spiritually than logically when it comes to destiny. The choices we make every day can either draw us closer to God or pull us away from Him, and they can positively or negatively impact our children’s spiritual growth. Many factors influence our decisions, and we will deal with them in prayers as we proceed to the prayer section.
Upbringing(nurture)
Trauma
Covenant and altars
Inferiority complex
Carnality
Lack of proper revelation
Lukewarm Christianity
Selfishness or self-centeredness
People pleasing
Misplaced priorities
It is essential that we reposition our mindset as we proceed with this devotional, dropping ideologies and mentalities that have held us back the while. A moment of self-reflection can shift a wrong turn to the right move. Our decisions as parents have a substantial impact on our children’s lives. As parents, let us strive to make choices that honor and glorify God and positively impact our children’s lives, knowing that our choices have the power to shape their future and contribute to the picture God had in mind when He created them. Therefore, we must make wise choices and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit in every aspect of parenting.
It is important always to start prayers with a cry for mercy as we pray. Mercy is the ultimate expression of God’s compassion and love towards us. Mercy is repentance, redemption, and restoration for you and generations before you. That cry for mercy represents a heart of humility, knowing that even though mercy is a gift to us, it is something we don’t take for granted. I like to look at mercy like an access card, giving me free access to a fresh start through the blood of Jesus from the circumstances my errors and bloodline errors landed me in.
Prayer points: (The lines are just a guide; don’t limit yourself to just saying the lines and moving on. Expand on each prayer point as you pray. Pray with the scripture and pray fervently.)
Hebrews 4:12
Lord, I come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy for every wrong decision I’ve made in the past and present. Any choice I’ve made that has altered the destinies of my children, I repent and receive your mercy. Lord, let your mercy reverse the effects of my wrong decisions, in Jesus name.
Isaiah 62:6-7
Lord, empower us to become watchmen over our children that we will take up prayer watches to war on their behalf. Lord, let our spiritual appetite become far more significant than our physical limitations. Lord, as we stand on our watch post, give us the grace to see what we need to pray with precision. Give us the grace to pray without ceasing, in power and understanding.
Romans 8:14
Holy Spirit, give me the grace to be led by you, not by my flesh or another strange spirit. I bring my body and my mind under the influence of the Holy Spirit. I receive the grace as a parent to not be impulsive and seek your guidance. I receive the discernment not to be innocently lured into any demonic covenants.
James 1:8 KJV
I bind every double-minded Spirit that has overpowered my decision-making ability. I receive the grace to remain steadfast on what you tell me, Holy Spirit. Every such spirit that has transferred to my children, I repent and uproot it from their subconscious and conscious by the blood of Jesus.
1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV
Lord, give us the grace as parents to stand for righteousness! I am conscious that every decision to fall will directly affect my children. I receive the grace to take heed and withstand the pressures of society.
Isaiah 50:7
Lord, give me the grace to set my face like a flint. To be unwavering and uncompromised. May that example also be imparted to my children in Jesus name.
Job 1:10
Lord, I carry out a restraining order against the kingdom of darkness on behalf of my household standing on Job 1:10. The same way satan could not have access while the hedge was there. Let that hedge of protection protect my children everywhere they go. Let the blessing of the Lord follow us everywhere in Jesus name.
WEEK 2
SECURING THE IDENTITY OF OUR CHILDREN
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27 NKJV
As children of God, our true identity is rooted in Christ. It was predestined by a very intentional God before our conception. The first line of Jeremiah 1:5 states: Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
Our Father considered everything about us a masterpiece, inclusive of our sexual orientation and gender. It’s no coincidence why the identities of our children have become a prime target to satan. It is an attack against the very essence of the intentionality of God in them. This dispensation has been on the receiving end of the highest bombardment our generation has ever seen. From the infiltration of perverted, Gender-confusing books targeted at children from such a young age to the threat against our rights as parenthood for opposing what we consider a violation of our God-given rights as parents. God makes no mistakes, and the seed that satan is trying to plant to make the younger generation question the sovereignty of God is infuriating. We must rise in prayer as parents and future parents to create a spiritual shield against this abrasive invasion of our children’s identity, both young and old. I believe a rising generation has the mantles of Elijah, Moses, Deborah, etc., and such a trail-blazing generation threatens the devil. Satan knows once the orientation of your identity has been compromised, it will negatively impact your destiny. Who you are, who you will become, the impact you will make, the spouse you will marry, and the children you will have were predestined beforehand and factored into creation. Satan knows any alteration of your gender/identity will fragment a divine plan.
The attack against identity can stem from the womb. Mothers can have a deep desire for a particular gender that begins to conflict with the original design that God intended for the child. That deep desire can translate to meditation, altering the acceptance of the gender in the subconscious realm of the baby. The child is born and grows to hate their identity. If the baby is born with the opposite gender hoped for, there is already a clash in the subconscious realm of the mind. That baby will grow up desiring to be the gender that the mother desired while they were in the womb. As mothers and parents in general, we have to be very careful. The children we have belong to God, and we must submit our desires to God first before we create altars in our hearts that will begin to counter the blueprint for our children.
Satan Is A Strategist
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
I Peter 5:8 NKJV,
A loss of identity in children creates a vacancy that the devil will fill. For satan to execute his future agenda, one thing he will do is plant a seed of confusion so that the child can be a conduit for demonic possession. He provides temporary satisfaction through selfish pursuits that end in disaster. Criminals were not born criminals. There was a void in their identity that satan filled. In such situations, as parents must repent and cry out for mercy. The revelation of mercy gives you a fresh start. It is not too late if you are reading this and connecting to what is written. Please return your children to Jesus so His blood can heal and reconstruct. If you’re a youth or adult reading this and have experienced gender dysmorphia or identity crises of any kind, you are the beloved of the Lord, and He wants to heal and deliver you. There is deliverance in the blood of Jesus. The power of God can save you in such a beautiful way. Please submit yourself for deliverance and watch how God will use your life to save and impact generations.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
To all the parents and future parents, please take note of the solutions listed on the next page, along with the scriptures. Meditate on the solution and scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to give you a more profound revelation as He draws you and your children to the place of total alignment with His will.
Solution:
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I John 1:9 NKJV
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6 NKJV
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
Psalms 139:14 NKJV
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
II Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luke 18 1 KJV
Prayer Points: (The lines are just a guide; don’t limit yourself to just saying the lines and moving on. Expand on each prayer point as you pray. Pray with the scripture and pray fervently.)
Start with mercy and repentance. It is a posture of humility and a surrendered heart.
Jeremiah 30:17
Lord, I pray for a restored identity and mental health for my children. Any damage that has going on in their subconscious and conscious realm through identity confusion and exposure to materials and content that aid that confusion, I plead the blood of Jesus over the minds and souls of my children. Lord, restore them in Zion. Let their original identity be restored.
Psalms 89:21-22
Lord, according to your word in Psalm 89: 21-22, Anything you lay your hand on is established and strengthened. Lord, Lay your hand on our children’s identity. Let them be shielded from the cunning schemes and strategies of the enemy against them. Be protected from the son of wickedness in Jesus name.
Galatians 1 10
Lord, please give our children the grace to be secure in you. Please give them the grace to overcome peer pressure and kill their desire to fit in the crowd. Instead, replace that desire with passion to stand out for Jesus. Lord, let our children not be negatively influenced by the systems of the world; rather, let them impact the world through the spirit of God.
Isaiah 8:10
Every demonic counsel against our children from the powers that be in government, media, educational system, and any sector that directly or indirectly affects our children crumble in Jesus name. Lord, let all of their actions come to nothing, and let the counsel of God be established.
II Timothy 1:7, John 14:27
We cover our children’s mental health with the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus subdues every concentrated attack against their minds. Every seed of fear the enemy uses to penetrate the mental faculties be uprooted in Jesus name.
Matthew 15:13
Lord, I stand on Matthew 15:13 and uproot every seed of perversion and homosexuality planted in my children. I uproot it from their subconscious realm and conscience realm. I deprogram the programming of Satan against our children and his plans to demoralize our children with perversion and immorality. Lord, let the blood of Jesus create a resistance barrier around our children against everything that is perverted, making it impossible for the enemy to penetrate their souls in Jesus name.
I Corinthians 15:33
Lord, we separate our children in advance and in the present time from the wrong people. We caused a separation in the realms of the spirit from anyone who wrongfully attached themselves to them and vice versa. Let the fire of the Holy Ghost cause an immediate separation. Holy Spirit connect our children to the right people. Lord, please guide our children, give them discernment, and allow them to make the right choices in friendship, connections, and marriage in Jesus name.
Acts 2:17
Lord, we are desperate for your outpouring. Let your spirit be poured out upon our children. Please cause them to have deep encounters with you, open their eyes to see, and give them deep revelations of the dimensions of who you are. Their gifting shall begin to break forth for the glory of the Lord in Jesus name.
Galatians 6:17
Lord, please mark our children with the marks of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let them be exempted from this end-time invasion of perversion. Let them be set apart for your glory, Jesus. Lord, please mark them with a mark of exemption from all Satanic hostility and bloodshed. They will not be counted amongst the sheep for the slaughter, in the mighty name of Jesus.
WEEK 3
RAISING PURPOSEFUL CHILDREN
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
Purposful is the adjective of purpose, which tells me there is action. In this section, our goal is not just to raise children who understand what purpose is and pray about it. The objective is to raise a generation with a comprehensive understanding of purpose and are ready to take action as we push them forward in prayer. Our job as parents is to push our children forward in prayer as we receive a revelation of their destiny and not to dictate their purpose to them.
I call to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
Psalms 57:2 CSB
Mary was submitted to the purpose of Jesus, even though she was the mother. I’ve often discovered that some parents like to live vicariously through their children, having their children complete dreams and goals
