About this ebook

This is my
Little piece
Of eternity.
I've hidden
Myself away
For far too long.
Let it be ours.
Let it be grand.

A LETTER TO THE KEEPERS OF MY WORDS

Firstly, thank you. Thank you for taking part in all that this is. I’ve done the work. You now reap your portion of its rewards.

Please take care of my words; they are all I truly have.

The collection has been organised into 4 sections: LONGING, LOSS, GAIN and EQUILIBRIUM.

Within each section, the poems have been organised in chronological order. All four overlap in some places, but everything is where it belongs.

Longing equates to my desire to be integrated- with my feelings, with people, with myself. It is sharp, yet unsure. It is explorational. It is the possibility to touch the world; it is reaching for it.

Gain equates to the little that has been poured back into my open hands and heart. It is short and sweet. It is euphoria.

Equilibrium equates to the centring of my feelings. It is reflection. It is hope. It is my truth. It is the pouring of myself back into myself. It is the filling of every empty thing within me.

    LONGING

    It was like,

    Drinking a cup of water,

And as I lifted the cup,

    From my lips,

    Thirst,

    overtook me.

    -Leila

    I am sick.

    I only want you,

    When you do not

    Want me.

    I only want you,

    When it is wrong

    To have you.

    -Leila

    I’ve given you my heart,

    Yet you think,

    I don’t even
