About this ebook

To all the ones who feel lost, defeated, and hopeless. The ones that feel like this should be their last day. The ones who think there is nowhere left to turn. In your moment of darkness, I pray these words bring you hope. I pray the light of the Lord comforts and fills you. I pray your pain subsides and love surrounds you in whatever you are going through. Please realize how important and special you are. Understand that you are beautiful, strong, brave, intelligent, perfectly imperfect, amazingly unique, accepted, loved, and enough. I'm sharing these words because they helped me during my darkest days when the thoughts of suicide spread across my mind like wildfire. Creating an inescapable prison where the demons of my past lurked. I was trapped there until I began to heal and allow God to guide me.

Suicide Please Don't Do It - J Cartier

    Introduction

Battling the thoughts of suicide is a never-ending fight. Even as I write this book, I still feel the subtle urge to end it all. These urges, coupled with the constant waves of depression, make life feel like an endless pit. I’ve burned bridges, lashed out, and even self-medicated to combat these feelings. I am no expert, and I am not perfect. I only wish to share the steps that I used in my battle against suicidal thoughts. This book is based on MY experience. I hope to reach those individuals in the middle of their fight. The ones who are minutes away from making that final decision. Those who may be too ashamed, afraid, prideful, or hurt to ask for help. I hope that as you read this book, you find out more about yourself and find your reason to keep going.

Just as time passes and the seasons change, so goes my mental health. As I close the chapter on 2023, I am on my second burnout of the year and feel lost again. I find myself in a constant battle with the urge to get high to numb the pain. I am consumed with guilt for the wrongs I have done in my past. I’ve isolated myself and pushed friends away as I’ve gone through this fight. I feel like I am being crushed to nothingness. One day, I hope to understand what all these moments were for. But for now, I am moving forward, making decisions to protect my well-being.

My name is Jamaal Carter. I am writing this book from a broken place inside a broken mind. Within these pages, I share my pain and trauma to positively impact the world around me. I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for the opportunity to share these testimonies. As you read, please know you are not alone, and you are not worthless. You
