Meditation Intuition Atheism & God - Andrew Carlston

    MEDITATION INTUITION ATHEISM & GOD

This book is not a course in meditation. Neither is it the result of years of organized research and investigation. On the contrary, it is comprised of personal experiences, each of which pointed to specific conclusions.

Those personally-reached conclusions have then been proven to be true over and over again. The goal of this book is to relay to you first-hand experiences of meditation and some undeniable results. It will also delve into the positive side-effects of frequent meditation – the awakening of intuition, the gaining of certain psychic abilities, out-of-body experiences, and much more.

In this book I put forward my personal understanding of what intuition actually is, and how this might be understood and explained in the mind of an atheist. Furthermore, the existence of a divine intelligence (a God) will also be discussed, without involving the idea of religion.

Whether you are an atheist, you already have you own spiritual beliefs, or you find yourself somewhere in between, I believe this book will undoubtably offer you some food for thought. My hope is that you will eventually challenge yourself to test the promises of dynamic meditation to witness for yourself the amazing results and miracles that can become of it.

On a personal note, when I was handed Jose Silva’s original book on Dynamic Meditation, I was a cynic and an atheist, with an unshakable belief that there is no such thing as God. In spite of my conflicting personal beliefs to being able to change my reality through meditation, and create miracles, as the book promised, I continued to read the book. And at a certain point in the book, for reasons which I will delve into later on, I decided to put the system to the test. The subsequent changes in my life and the complete about-turn in my personal belief system was the direct result of the many undeniable miracles which ensued.

What is Meditation? Does it work? What are its uses?

In Scientific terms the act of meditation is the conscious slowing down of one’s brain’s frequency to the Alpha level, or even deeper to the Theta or Delta levels. Once this state is achieved there are many dynamic techniques available which can be used to bring positive changes.

At the meditative level innumerable changes can be 'programmed' and achieved, both within one’s body and externally. The said changes can be anything from an improvement in one’s health (such as the healing of a sickness or the improvement of one’s eyesight). Or it can be any other goal which the person meditating wishes to achieve. Again this could be anything from achieving a salary increase at work, improving a specific relationship, finding love, or even winning the lottery!

I must admit that when I first picked up Jose Silva’s book  and started reading about the endless miracles that can be achieved, I remember at first thinking, he is trying very hard to sell this book!. Then of course I realized that one had to already own the book to be reading it, therefore what was the point of including possible untruths, or exaggerations in it? Intrigued, I continued reading.

I’m sure there are many different types of meditation, however Silva has labelled just 2 different main classes:

    1)    There is Passive Meditation, which is in itself very valuable. This is where a person uses meditation to just bring himself or herself to a point of deep relaxation (to the Alpha state), and where they just remain there for a certain amount of time, perhaps focusing on their breathing, or focusing on the feeling of weightlessness. Exercising this type of meditation on a regular basis, will undoubtably bring the subject great benefits, such as better health, a better mood, better memory, and a score of other little improvements to their physical and mental wellbeing.

    2)    Then there is Dynamic Meditation. This is used when a person wishes to make changes in addition to those mentioned above, especially changes outside and beyond their physical body. This can be used for example, to pass an exam, to attract a partner to you, to heal someone, or even to attract wealth! The list has no end, and is limited only to your imagination. Dynamic Meditation is without a doubt, life-changing!

At this point I would like to clarify that at no point during any meditation level is the subject unaware of his or her surroundings or in a 'trance', or not in full awareness or control. On the contrary, you remain fully alert and consciously guide your mind to execute certain tasks. If someone was to call your name you would hear it. Similarly, if your life were to suddenly be in danger, such as due to a fire, you would snap into action immediately. Meditation does not dull the senses.

Of course, if you are new to meditation and you attempt to practice it lying down, there is a good chance that you might fall asleep, just as any person might when they lie down and close their eyes!

In the heading of this chapter I included the question, Does it work?

To the question ‘Does dynamic meditation bring about positive changes in your life?’ my answer is a resounding Yes! To the questions, ‘Can meditation improve your health, bring about miracles and grow within you a plethora of psychic abilities?’ the answer would again be yes. Sometimes the changes or results following meditation are so amazing (and unlikely!) that they can only be termed miracles. Please allow me to take you through some of my personal experience; those of a cynical atheist who was given the book to read.

    Meditation-the test

Back in 1993 a good friend of mine handed me a book on meditation, and insisted that I read it.

The book was called THE SILVA MIND CONTROL METHOD by Jose Silva.

When I began reading the book the author wasted no time in starting to talk about the miracles of meditation and the guarantee that it would change my life. It also made mention of God, something which I did not appreciate as I was a steadfast atheist. However, at some point he made it clear that the book, and meditation itself, did not lean on any type of spiritual or religious belief, and that anyone can achieve miracles with meditation no matter what their spiritual (or non-spiritual) beliefs are.

In the introduction of the book Mr. Silva instructed the reader to go through the book, reading it passively like a novel, without actually following any of the exercises.

He then suggested that once you have read the book, and have got a general idea of what it’s all about and what to expect, then, if it still interests you, you can go back to the beginning and start doing the exercises chapter by chapter.

I did what was suggested, and began reading through the book without stopping...until I came to a chapter with the heading, HEALING.

I looked up from the book and fell deep into thought. At the time I was a volunteer at Nicosia’s Children’s Hospital, which brought me into daily contact with children with cancer and leukemia.

Despite my cynical view on Mr. Silva's promised results on meditation, I still allowed myself to fall into a little day-dream.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I had the power to heal!!

I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit that even I had a little, ‘Jesus moment’, whereby my mind drifted through images of me walking through the hospital, touching children upon their heads and healing them instantly. I then smiled at the irony of my thinking about the 'miracles of Jesus', when in fact I did not even believe in Jesus! The thought was nice though, while it lasted.

I returned to the book again and began reading about healing.

    Incidentally, Mr. Silva later changed
