    To God

I thank God for saving me, sanctifying me, filling me with His Holy Spirit, and allowing me to have a Trinitarian life in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. I thank God for the release of His timing for this message in the shape of a book for His people.

    To my husband

Special thanks to my wonderful and handsome husband, Apostle Wayne Dickens. I thank you for being supportive and understanding as I obey God. I thank you for all the times you spoke into my life; you are such a man of God. We have so much in common. I love you, and I thank you for treating me as your queen.

I thank God for how we have grown together. I thank God for our prayer life and the friendship we share. Marriages cannot survive on just a husband-and-wife relationship. I can attest to that. The prayer life my husband and I share, along with our friendship, and our brothers and sisters in the Lord have strengthened our marriage. We thank God that all those roles and relationships have never been challenged at the same time.

Husband, you are such an example of how men should go to God on how they should treat their wives as a woman of God. You have made it no secret to say that you went to God on my behalf. And I also went to God on behalf of my husband being a man of God and how I should treat him. When the two go to God on each other's behalf, things just have to work out.

My husband and I know our union is a God thing. We could not have done this ourselves. It is an honor to be your wife. Apostle Wayne Dickens, you are the best for me. I love you, baby.

In honor of the love and legacy of my mother

Johnnie Mae Fleming McCants—my mother—was a woman of faith and wisdom. She got such joy out of building people into a better place, by telling them of the goodness of the Lord and counseling many into a more righteous direction. Many left my mother's presence with the hope that things would get better in their lives. I thank God for the way my mother raised us, teaching us about God.

My mother was a very positive woman; I never heard her complain. She was beautiful, inside and out. She had much love for God, and her testimonies about her life with Him were priceless. As I look back on when my mother was with us, she had plenty to be discouraged about, but she would always say, The Lord will make a way. No matter how much pain she was in, she would often say, I'm still pushing. Now that I have a relationship with God, I know where she was pushing to.

She kept herself motivated by her faith and the words she chose daily in this race. My mother knew it wasn't about comfort or your pace in the race. She knew it was about your faith to endure. Ecclesiastes 9:11 and Matthew 24:13 together let us know, The race is not given to the swift…but to the one who endures to the end. And my mother had some endurance. Before I was working, I saw my mother on a fixed income. She paid her tithes and offerings faithfully every month. How could she afford tithe and offering? This wise woman knew she couldn't afford not to.

There is so much about my sweet mother that I apply to my daily life. My mother was an awesome seamstress and interior decorator. She was very creative with her hands. My siblings and I would say to ourselves when wrapping up in her creative blankets, Were these once the living room curtains or sofa covers we were now covering up with? She knew how to take the worst-looking anything and make it into something beautiful. My mother often prayed, Lord, please don't let me leave this world before each and every one of my children knows You.

A mother is our children's first role model and path to Jesus. Let them see you pay your tithes and offering despite what's due. This is the path my mother set for us. I love you, Mother.

    To my father

William Carter, who I sometimes call my morning cup. In talking to him on the way to work, you never know what will come from the thoughts of this ninety-year-old man. One thing is for sure; it will be powerful enough to sip on for the rest of your day. My father promotes the thought that if you give the Lord His, He will leave Yours alone, which means paying your tithes and offerings. And he often tells us, When the Holy Spirit tells you to turn left, please don't turn right.

I love how he would sometimes come to my job, wait for me to get there, watch me get to my work, and tell me to lock up and have a great day. He often tells me, It is my honor to be your father. I always reply, It is an honor to be your daughter.
