CHAPTER 51 You Touched My Mate

In the morning, we had breakfast. The two men left us, and I enjoyed the day with Kiyana. After three, we went to the hotel to prepare for the party. Two young ladies who were attending to us in the store helped us get ready. They did our hair and make-up.  

Red lipstick is a perfect fit for you, Ma'am, she said. 

Really? 

Yes, I stood up and looked into the mirror. The dress I wore flaunted my thin body, and because of the pregnancy, my breasts were slightly big now. 

Heels, I was surprised when she brought the 100,000 heels I saw at the store. 

Your boyfriend got them along with these earrings, the lady said. She showed me diamond earrings and helped me put them on. I twirled after I finished, and the girl clapped.

Kiyana stepped into the room. She looked perfect in a sleeveless backless dress, and the make-up suited her. 

You look amazing! we said. We laughed and hugged each other quickly. 

Let's go, she linked her arm to mine. 

We went out to meet Rhaegar and Nate. Their jaws were on the floor when they saw us. They looked even more handsome in their tuxedos. Rhaegar's lips twitched into a smile, and he extended his hand to me. 

You're breathtaking, he whispered. His eyes burned into me, and my cheeks flushed. 

Thank you, I said. 

We went to the car and reached the event in ten minutes. I was surprised to see many cameras taking photos of us when we got out. He tugged my arm and smiled. We went inside, and I could tell they were influential people, all elegant and well-dressed. Most of them were humans. I was glad I put more effort into my outfit. Most of them came to greet the alpha Prince most respectfully. He discussed it with the people before we went to the auction. 

Two hours later, the party continued. Rhaegar introduced me to individuals as his girlfriend.

A dance? Rhaegar asked. 

I don't know how to dance, I said. 

Follow my lead, he whispered, taking me to the floor. We slowly danced and moved to the rhythm of the song playing. I followed his lead. He was a good dancer. He inhaled my scent from time to time. 

Think of me when you hear this song, he whispered. I listened to the lyrics of the song. If I had to live my life without you near me, the days would all be empty. The nights would seem so long... Nothing's gonna change my life for you. You know by now how much I love you. 

I smiled and nodded. We continued to dance, and I gasped in surprise when he lifted and twirled me. I giggled. It was exciting. He kissed my shoulder gently, and goosebumps appeared on my skin. We finally stopped after two songs and stood aside. He was drinking champagne and making small talk to me. A warm happiness rushed through me as I watched him talk about a meeting he had earlier. 

Rhaegar Silvius, a voice thick with accent called. Two bald men approached us. I could tell by Rhaegar's expression that he didn't like them. 

Santos and Adam Tate, he sighed. 

It's good to see you here. You got the painting I was after, One of them smiled. 

You should have bid higher, Rhaegar said, finishing his drink. 

Hmm, 

Santos and Adam Tate's gaze falls on me. 

And who's this beautiful one by your arm tonight? Where's Miss Juliana, Santos said. 

Is there a reason you're here tonight? My mate all but growled. 

I heard you want to buy our shares in the enterprise. We came to tell you it's not happening, Adam said arrogantly. 

You have no business in the company, and we know the only way to move forward is to sell. Besides, I know your issues with the FBI, and I wouldn't want my company affiliated with traffickers, Rhaegar said. He is calm but scary. The brothers fumed. 

Those rumors are not true! 

Tell that to the FBI, and I know you're broke, so why are you holding on to shares? 

Santos' eyes fell on me. He seemed in turmoil for a while, but soon, I saw recognition in his eyes. What was that about? My mate shielded me from the two men. 

We'll discuss this later. Maybe we can come up with a solution, Adam said. The two men turned around, and I exhaled. They made me uneasy. Rhaegar turned to me with a slight smile. He stroked my hair. 

I'm sorry about that, 

Are those your business partners? I asked. 

Just one of them. The brothers are a menace, he replied coldly. 

Nate and Kiyana joined us. The two were living a dream. We danced until I excused myself to go to the bathroom. 

On my way back, through the large hallway, I saw one of the brothers, Santos. He noticed me and dismissed the two men he was talking to. I stopped in my tracks as he approached like a predator towards his pry. 

I know you, he said quietly. I straightened. 

I am Rhaegar Silvius's girlfriend, I said. Hoping he'll let me through. He shook his head. 

No, I know you through a rogue wolf acquaintance of mine. He's obsessed with finding you and is willing to pay a huge amount for you, 

My heart was racing in my chest. The alpha Rogue put out a price for me? It meant I was in more danger than I thought. I was shaking violently at the thought of Arlon. Arlon William had me in a chokehold. I was still so afraid of him. 

I always wondered why someone with such money and power was obsessed with a woman when he could have plenty. Now I see why, he smirked. His disgusting hands traced the outline of my body, and I couldn't breathe. He was dangerous close to my neck. 

Stop, I whimpered, gasping for air. He didn't stop, he chuckled, entertained. 

Santos was suddenly lifted off me, and arms wrapped around me.

Babe, oh my god. Rhaegar, she doesn't look well, Kiyana hollered. 

I stayed on the floor, shaking and breathing deeply. I was feeling dizzy. I looked up and saw Rhaegar. He was fuming. He growled at the man who had touched me. 

Let me go, man, he hissed. 

You touched my mate, Rhaegar's voice was low and deadly. Santos's face drained of all color. 

I- I was just playing around with her. She reacted b- badly to it,  No more was he bold.

Rhaegar grabbed his arms and looked down at his hands. 

These hands touched what they shouldn't have. Let's teach them a lesson, shall we? 

Crack. Crack. An agonizing scream resonated through the halls, and I gasped. Rhaegar broke his hands. He punched him several times, and I hid my face in Kiyana's neck. I felt limp in her embrace, and darkness overtook me.

CHAPTER 52 Rumors

Nalya

My eyes slowly opened, and I saw Rhaegar. He was watching me. I sat up, and he came close. 

Hi, he said. 

Hey,

I'm sorry about what happened,

It wasn't your fault, Rhaegar. I hope to never see that man again, 

Oh, you won't, the way he said it made it so bad. 

What did you do? I questioned. Rhaegar only shrugged, and I scowled. He gave me water to drink, and I got out of bed. I stood close to him, really close. Rhaegar was taken aback.

I want to bathe, I said. His heart was pounding. 

And you want to do it with me? 

I giggled. 

No, Silly. You're in my way, 

He exhaled and cussed. I smiled and kissed his cheek. He gasped. 

I went past him into the ensuite bathroom. I leaned against the door. That was bold of me. Rhaegar's face was priceless, shocked! I shook my head and took a long shower. 

It was time to leave. The Prince held my hand on our to the car.  

So sad to leave, I sighed, putting my head against his arm. I was getting comfortable around him. 

We'll come back whenever you want, he kissed my head. 

We reached the packhouse after midnight, and everyone was sleeping. I was jet-lagged and didn't even have the energy to walk. Rhaegar carried me to bed and lay next to me. 

We woke up late, and Rhaegar had a shower in my bathroom. 

The past week has been alright. Rumors are flying around that I charmed the Prince, and now, I wanted to be Luna so I could bring rogues. Others thought I was sleeping with him before I left, and that's why he brought me back. It wasn't all a lie though. 

With these rumors going around, it will keep the pack gossipers from asking questions about why I smell strongly of him and my choice of outfits lately. I wore hoodies and big shirts. My stomach was beginning to protrude as I was in my second trimester.

 I spend my time with Azura and Kiyana when they are not doing their things. Azura was busy with her thesis, and Kiyana with Nate. They were glued to the bone. I haven't seen Rhaegar since we came. 

I was sitting on a bench in the garden, looking at the forest when Roman appeared. I thought he'd work past me, but he didn't. He sat next to me and gave me an innocent smile. 

Hi, 

It took a while for me to answer him. He ignored me, and he came to say hi.

Hi? 

I was angry at my brother, Roman said, And you. I didn't know you were mates. Please, forgive me for being so rude and avoiding you, 

I don't know what to do or say, I admitted. What he did hurt me so much because I considered him a dear friend. 

I'm just sorry, I'm unsure how to fix it, he looked sincere in what he was telling me. I wanted to do something or just lay my head against his shoulder as I did, but I didn't want to give in so easily. 

I missed you, Nalya, 

I didn't show it, but Inside I was overjoyed. I swallowed and looked away. 

I didn't, 

You did, he was cocky. By the way, I brought a piece offering, 

I looked at him. He gave me a flute, I took it from him and inspected it. It was of thin-walled platinum with sterling silver keys. It had some extra weight as well.  It must have cost him a lot of money. I tried to play it, and I was shocked. It had an incredibly clear and powerful tone. 

How? 

I got it at an auction. Those things cost a lot, He frowned.

I bet. You shouldn't have, Roma, 

I wanted to, and I know how much you love to play, he smiled at me.

I sat and played for a while, enjoying it. I noticed a few people surrounded us when my eyes opened. They clapped. I bowed my head, and they dispersed. 

You're so damn good with that, Roma mused.  

In the evening, I had dinner with Kiyana in their suite. 

How did I live without him for so long? she asked. Kiyana was happy, and I was too for her. 

I'm glad you're happy, 

And we are sexually compatible! Can you imagine! 

I smiled as she talked about how awesome her life was going. 

By the way, we should go shopping tomorrow. I didn't come with any, she said. I nodded. 

The door to the dining room opened. Nate and Rhaegar walked in. My heart started racing immediately. I rarely saw him because of his work, but he called to ask how I was doing.

My Lady, hey Kiddo, Nate smiled. I grimaced. He'll never let this nickname go. 

Old man, I retorted. 

Rhaegar smiled and put his hand on my cheek, caressing me gently with his thumb. He suddenly kissed my cheek. 

Hi, beautiful, His voice was low and sweet. 

Hey, 

I couldn't be in the same room as him. It was so hot. I was erratic, 

How was- 

I should go now, I cut off his sentence. I turned around and walked away from there, but I didn't get far when I felt sparks appear over my skin. 

Nalya, Rhaegar called. 

Hey, I gave him a tight-lipped smile. 

Are you avoiding me? he was walking beside me to my room now. I opened the door, and he entered after me. 

No, I'm tired and want to rest, I said, quickening my pace because I didn't want anyone to see us. 

Can we do something together? I have a cabin, and we could go there. The landscape is beautiful and serene, 

And what will you tell the people who will see us together? 

I don't care about what people think. You're my mate, and I want to be with you and show you off, but you are ashamed of me, he said. 

I'm not, I mumbled, and his eyes lit up. 

Then why don't you let me talk or hold your hand in public, his tone was accusatory.  

I was surprised to see him sit on the bed. I sat beside him. 

There rumors going around the pack. People think I want to bring rogues here, 

Rhaegar wasn't surprised. 

They are just rumors. Once you accept me as yours. I'll tell them the truth and mark your pretty little neck, he grinned. A mark that will show I belong to him. I was flustered and stood up. 

Aren't you leaving? 

Can I stay here for a while? 

I pondered for a while and sighed. 

Sure, 

We lay on the bed, and he wrapped an arm around me, touching my belly. 

Everyone will soon know you're pregnant. Your scent is changing to that of a Silvius, he said softly. I needed to decide before everyone knew the truth. 

'What do you think wolf?' I asked my inner counterpart. She rarely talked to me but was happy about the pup. 

'He's trying, and is sincere with his feelings for us,' she said. 

'So you're okay with being with him,' 

'yes,' 

'Is it too easy?' 

'No,'

I grabbed Rhaegar's warm hand. This was the first time I initiated contact since we got together. My action had his heart pounding in his chest, and he kissed my neck.
