    Introduction ….

Well, to all of us who survived the seventies, many of us are happy we made it out alive. The seventies were an era of sex, drugs, and rock and roll!

I, for one, never really thought that I would have to live in the 70s all over again. One thing that hasn’t changed: we’re all going to try to make it out alive!

By now, all the mistakes you’ve made I hope you’ve learned from. The areas of your life you have not fixed, there is still time. This is no longer a dress rehearsal. This is the final act.

Thanks for joining me once again. This is my fifth book; this one will be a little different than those in the past.

Many of you have asked if I would include my thoughts along with my messages. A great idea, thanks.

In a way, this allows me to reflect on my own life and how I process my thoughts and events in my life.

You see, the words I offer to you, I live every day of my life. I have done so since my late teens. I was blessed with gifted teachers. Most importantly, I was willing to take a chance to achieve what they had.

Life is all about choices. At an early age, the choices we make can have devastating results or provide a lifetime of peace and security. Choices you make, even those that are so small, can change your life forever.

This book was written to assist you in your day-to-day life, serving as a refresher course, so to speak, something we all can benefit from, myself included.

Each day, read a passage and put it into practice in your life. You will be amazed at how quickly your life will improve.

    Godspeed.

    A book of reminders.

We all need a little nudging from time to time to remind us of what is important to us, not to others.

To allow yourself to be free of the things that hold you back. To be the best person you can be every day.

I read a lot, but most of the books I have read I no longer possess. There is only one book I keep on my desk that never gets loaned out, that never leaves … The Secret.

I use it as a reminder to reinforce all of the things that I know to be true. We all let things slide and accept the consequences. The truth is there are no consequences worth accepting.

Use this book to remind you how important you are and, most of all, how important your well-being is to you.

Live in a glass house and wash your windows every day.

Accept the things you cannot change.

It seems, at times, I’ve yet to accept the subtle changes that have happened over the years. The handsome young man I once knew, now every so often, appears as a glimpse in the mirror.

The days of walking into a boardroom and everyone sitting up a little straighter in their chair and leaning in a little closer when I spoke are long gone. Today, I’m just a memory of who I once was.

I no longer need to chase dreams and rainbows. I have all that I’ve dreamt of and more. I’ve learned the only dreams worth chasing you cannot hold in your hand; you can hold them only in your heart.

But now, I take a little more time to listen to others. I may walk a little slower, but this allows me to see more of the beauty that surrounds me.

I choose my words much more carefully than I did in the past. I’ve learned not to waste words on those who can’t handle the truth.

My sight isn’t what it once was, so now I see less of that, which is not important to me.

The years have softened who I once was, just like the wind and the rain soften the peaks of mountains. This is life, and we cannot change it.

The most important lesson I have learned is that you must never let your world get smaller. You need to be needed, you need to help others, and above all, you need to love and be loved.

We all have losses and events that happen in our lives that seem to be greater than we are. And for a time, they just may well be.

But as the days pass, it’s up to us to pick back up and continue the journey. It may not always be the journey we expected, but the memories you carry with you on that journey will get you to where you need to be.

Don’t stop living; start living with purpose. This is your life and, above all, your happiness!

Life is all about choices; choose wisely.

It’s a simple statement, but it has life-changing consequences. We make hundreds of choices every day without giving them a second thought. That extra spoonful of sugar in your coffee, salting food before tasting it—these seemingly small actions can, down the road, lead
