    Author's note: All characters depicted in this work of fiction are 18 years of age or older.

    Nora's roommate, Sarah, claimed she had received a flyer from a friend's friend. Nora found the story dubious but decided not to question it. My friend's friend gave it to her, who gave it to me, Sarah insisted, waving the crumpled paper with its torn corners that was likely ripped from a light pole. Nora thought Sarah could have just been honest about wanting to go, instead of pretending it was mere curiosity. I'm not suggesting we attend, she had stated initially, holding her hands up mockingly. I'm just amazed that parties like that exist.

    Sitting at the kitchen table, Nora shrugged and took a bite of her toast. Sarah dropped the subject but brought it up again a few days later, her voice betraying a hint of excitement. What do you think people do at those parties?

    I imagine they dress up in fetish gear and show off, Nora replied casually, pulling her phone out of her pocket as a diversion and pretending to check her empty inbox. When Sarah got up to refill her coffee and turned her back, Nora stole another glance at the wrinkled flyer lying on the table. She recognized the venue, having attended a concert there the previous year and a rave during her college days. The memory was a blurry recollection colored by regretful judgments of her wild and impulsive twenties. She could faintly feel the rush of the crowd and the bass pounding in her chest as she engaged in reckless dancing and exchanged intimate moments for mystery pills that made the surroundings shimmer and the lights blur. She remembered making out in a secluded corner with a woman and her boyfriend, savoring the softness and warmth of the woman's lips while being tantalized by the roughness of his stubble against her neck. Amid the passionate scene, someone had grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulled, eliciting a gasp from her. The experience had lasted until the early
