Prologue
I could barely hear anything over the rapid thumping of my heart in my ears as I stared into the aged face before me. Deep, hollowed eye sockets and a wizened, wrinkled visage - it felt as though cobwebs could be lurking within. Mocking laughter escaped from her lips, directed at both my anger and my fear.
