About this ebook

Important: This book is the 10th book in our Superhero Universe!

It had been about a year since the events in New York with the Outcasts, and Victoria had been trying to live a normal life with the Survivors. But everything changed when they heard that the Reapers had robbed a bank. Victoria knew that she had to investigate, and she went over to the bank to see what she could find.

As she looked around, Victoria found a piece of a map. She had no idea what kind of map it was, but Bill knew that this was a way that the Reapers used to meet each other at secret locations. The group was tense, and there was a growing sense of unease among them. They were starting to grow apart, and Victoria knew that she was on her own against the Reapers.

Despite the danger, Victoria was determined to find out what the map meant. She knew that it was the key to unraveling the Reapers' plans, and she was willing to do whatever it took to uncover the truth. As she followed the clues, Victoria found herself in some of the most dangerous parts of the city, facing off against the Reapers.

    Chapter 1

    My City, My Life.

Carly Allen ran over the rooftops of the buildings in New York, her heart pounding in her chest. She looked behind her, but she couldn't see her pursuer. Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the air, and ropes flew towards her. They came out of a gun meant for capturing people, and were designed to trip her up and leave her with nowhere to go. But luckily for Carly, the rope missed her.

Why does New York have to have a superhero?! Carly muttered to herself as she continued to run. She knew she had to get out of there, but she didn't know where to go. Suddenly, she found herself on the edge of a rooftop, with nowhere left to run.

Don't make any sudden movements! a woman's voice called out from behind her. Carly turned around and saw her pursuer. It was Molecural, the superhero who had been chasing her.

So I finally get to meet Molecural? Cool, Carly said sarcastically.

Molecural glared at her. Nice to meet you too, but you're going to jail.

    Carly laughed. Alright, bye.

Molecural didn't understand why Carly said goodbye, but before she could react, Carly jumped off the rooftop. Molecural ran to the edge of the building and watched as Carly fell towards the ground. But just before she hit the pavement, Carly pulled out a small grappling hook and shot it towards another rooftop. She quickly climbed up the building and disappeared from sight.

Molecural was irritated, but she wasn't planning on letting Carly get away. She took a couple of steps back, placed her hands on the ground, and started counting down. She was going to do something she had never done before.

    3... 2... 1... Molecural said slowly.

Carly had just reached the top of the other rooftop when she heard a loud noise behind her. She turned around and saw that the rooftop she had just left had been destroyed. It looked like there was a big spike where the building used to be.

Confused, Carly started to run again, but before she could jump to another rooftop, Molecural, who had launched herself into the air, grabbed Carly and pulled her down to the ground.

That was something, Molecural said, catching her breath. She tied Carly's hands together and said, There was no reason for you to run away.

Carly pleaded with her. Come on, please let me go. I'm truly sorry for what I did!

Molecural looked at her but didn't say anything.

You're right, but I didn't have much of a choice, Carly continued. My partner...

I don't need to hear your story, Molecural interrupted. You broke the law, and because of that, you are going to prison.

With that, Molecural dragged Carly off to face the consequences of her actions.

Carly pleaded with Molecural, You have broken the law multiple times! The only difference is, they forgave you for it, so please let me go! Molecural remained silent. As they descended the stairs, they were met by police officers waiting for them.

Carly made one last desperate plea. Please, I can't go to prison. Molecural handed her over to the police without a word.

Carly, before being put in the back of the police car, warned Molecural, I will remember this! And you need to remember one thing, too.

Molecural gave her a strange look. Remember the name Vortex, Carly said, her face twisted with anger.

The police officer then read Carly her rights and placed her in the back of the car.

The police officers turned to Molecural and thanked her for her help.

Molecural chuckled, Well, it's good to have you guys too.

She walked away, disappearing into the dark alleys. The Survivors had developed a good relationship with the police over the past few months. While some officers refused their help, they could never arrest them.

Victoria returned home, but everyone was already asleep. She went to her room and fell asleep. The next morning, she woke up and went to the kitchen.

I saw that you caught the criminal mastermind, Amy said.

Victoria replied, Yeah, it wasn't that hard, but she is smart.

Amy expressed relief, I'm glad she is off the streets for a while.

Victoria looked down, Such a waste of potential, she would be great on our team.

Amy laughed. Yes, she would have been great. Do you think they will have enough evidence to lock her up for the rest of her life?

Victoria laughed, We'll be lucky if she has to go to prison for one year. She was such a good thief.

Amy replied, Let's hope she doesn't get out anytime soon. Victoria nodded, grabbed her coat, and headed out.

Lucas greeted her in the hallway, Good morning, where are you off to?

Victoria replied, I'm going to Susan! She hurried to her car and drove to the restaurant where she was meeting her sister.

Susan was waiting outside, visibly annoyed. Where have you been? You're almost 20 minutes late!

Victoria apologized, I'm sorry, I overslept because I had a lot of work last night.

Susan sighed, Let's just eat something.

As they waited for their food, Susan asked, So, what kind of work did you have last night?

Victoria sat at the brunch table, trying to come up with something to say, but her mind was blank. Frustrated, she blurted out, I uhhh.... I... I.... I can't remember, something with a lot of paperwork.

Susan laughed and said, You're always so busy, but I'm glad we can finally brunch together.

Victoria smiled, grateful for the chance to spend time with someone she had known her whole life. Did you hear what Molecural did last night? Susan asked.

Victoria was surprised to hear her sister mention the name Molecural. She pretended to think for a moment before replying, No, what did she do?

Susan explained, You remember the person that broke into my company's vault? Molecural caught that woman.

Victoria smiled and said, That's good.

But to be honest, I'm not a fan of Molecural, Susan said.

Victoria was taken aback. Why not? She does a lot of good for this city.

Susan replied, Well, I think the police will do a better job without her. She always goes her own way and intervenes in things that are meant for the police.

Victoria felt her anger rising. She has decreased criminality by 29%. She helped defend this city from aliens that tried to destroy it, and she even caught the woman that stole from you. Isn't that good enough?!

Susan looked shocked. Victoria took a deep breath. I'm sorry, I'm just really tired.

It's alright, Susan said, but what I meant goes for all the so-called superheroes. They are dangerous. Look at what Xyreon did.

He helped Molecural defend this city, this planet, Victoria said. Even Aessoid defended it, and he is helping to change our world for the better!

Susan was confused because of her reaction. Wow, this lies really deep in you, doesn't it?

Victoria replied, No, it doesn't... I'm just done with people that complain about those who try to help others.

Susan said, I do agree with you, but I'm also staying with my opinion.

Victoria was angry. You know what, let's just change the subject.

After that, Victoria calmed down. They finished their meal and went their separate ways. Despite their differences, Victoria was glad to have spent time with her sister. She couldn't help but think about the superheroes and their impact on the world. She knew that there were risks involved, but she believed that their intentions were pure. She hoped that one day, everyone would see the good they were doing and appreciate their efforts.

    Chapter 2

    I've waited for this.

Victoria was seething with anger at everything Susan had said. She had only stopped Carly because the latter had stolen money from Susan's company. Victoria looked around, wanting to kick something in frustration. She headed towards the training floor in her building and saw Bill training when she arrived. Hey, how was lunch with your sister? Bill asked.

But Victoria ignored him and started punching the punching bags furiously. Maybe you should slow down a bit, Bill said, concerned.

Victoria kept hitting the punching bag, but her anger reached a boiling point, and she slammed her hand against the wall, creating a sword. She immediately sliced the punching bag in two. Bill walked over to her and put his hand on her sword to lower it down. What's going on? he asked, worried.

Victoria gazed at Bill with a hint of concern etched on her face. Nothing, it's just that my sister isn't exactly a big fan of superheroes, she said, her voice laced with uncertainty.

Bill raised an eyebrow, studying her intently. So what's the problem? he asked, his tone gentle. You're Molecural when you put your mask on, and when it's off, you're Victoria.

Victoria let out a soft chuckle. That's a bit silly, she replied, though she couldn't deny the truth in his words.

Bill joined in her laughter, his eyes crinkling at the corners. You know what else is silly? he said, his voice teasing. The fact that you destroyed another punching bag today.

Victoria's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. I'm sorry, she said, though a small smile tugged at her lips. But on the bright side, I'm improving my movement.

Bill grinned, clearly amused. Aren't you looking for new members for the Survivors? he asked, his tone more serious now.

Victoria's expression grew pensive. Why should I? she asked, her voice tinged with skepticism.

Well, we're strong, but we could be even stronger, Bill replied, his gaze unwavering. Think about it.

Victoria walked away and went to the living room, where she sat down on the couch. After a few minutes, Amy sat down next to her. How do you feel about Omar?

Amy asked in a weird tone. Victoria wasn't paying attention and turned her head, asking, What do you mean?

Amy looked at Victoria in her eyes. Well, when he needed help last year, you immediately came to his aid. So, how do you really feel about him? she asked, her voice gentle and probing.

Victoria furrowed her brow, taken aback by the question. You mean if I like him or not? she asked, trying to make sense of Amy's line of questioning. When Amy nodded in response, Victoria let out a small sigh. He's way too young for me, and I'm still in love with Charlie, she said, her tone slightly bitter.

Amy leaned forward, her eyes softening. "Victoria, after everything you've been through, don't you think it
