About this ebook
Tyler’s Story is one of strength and resilience. Diagnosed at a young age with dyscalculia, dyslexia and hard of hearing, she faced bullies and unsupportive learning environments.
When she started work, despite all her achievements, people continued to try and bring her down. However, Tyler has come through the other side stronger than ever. Whatever life throws at her, she prevails, and her story will make you think twice about putting her in a box.
Tyler Casey
Tyler is a young lady with multiple disabilities and has faced a lot of scrutiny for following her dreams and faced many people who didn’t believe in her. Despite all the obstacles in life, Tyler is fierce and determined, and will not be defeated by anything or anyone who think she not capable of the things she wants. Tyler aims to encourage more young people like herself to be braver and fiercer and to go against all odds when they come against them. Tyler aims for the government to step in and make the workplace more inclusive to those with disabilities, without companies just ticking a box in their recruitment process or in their staffing levels. Tyler wants to see more disabled or those with disabilities in management positions, and more training in the workplace about how to work with those with disabilities – whether that be understanding how their mind works or learning BSL – whatever training may be offered. Tyler wants more understanding amongst colleagues, not criticism.

Acknowledgement
I’d like to thank my family – grandmother, brothers and sister, and friends. Special thanks to my mum for fighting my corner when I didn’t myself and teaching me work ethic. My dad and my stepmother Marie for always being on the other side of the phone to listen to my cares and complains and supporting me through them. My nanny and Granda Bob for looking out for me and treating me just like their own – always. My best friend Georgia for being the best friend and god mother to my girl, and always being by our side in all we do.
And finally, my beautiful baby girl for not only teaching me how to be a mother but how to be the woman I am today. You gave me the strength and determination to want to help make the world a better place for you and others and I don’t want history to repeat itself.
