    My Prayer

    images_313_Copy112.png

I pray this book awakens and the words are carefully taken.

    That it touches the reader

Warms the heart of the believer

And brings awareness to the mind of a sinner to receive it.

    In Jesus name. Amen

Dedicated to my mom Annie Mae Gipson, who, at the age of 82, wrote a cookbook titled Mother Annie Mae Gipson’s Kitchen Table. Cooking was her passion. Her book was filled with so much love. It reminded me of my love for God and was a huge inspiration for me wanting to move forward with my book.

She didn’t get to see it come to fruition, but I still remember how she encouraged me and offered her support. I can visualize the smile on her face, her knowing that I followed in her footsteps.

    A New Day

    images_311_Copy118.png

Today is another chance, another day to take a stance.

Another day to praise the Lord.

To let Him know of Him, you are a part.

Another day to help save a soul,

It doesn’t matter, young or old.

Another day to renew the mind,

    Only blessings you will find.

Another day to be a blessing,

Another day to learn a new lesson,

Another day to try and do good

    Simply because you should.

Another day to lend a helping hand,

To help the fallen up and help them to stand.

Another day to speak of upheaval,

To tell somebody it’s all just evil.

Another day to sing and give praises unto the King.

Another day to shout and run all about.

Another day to pray, another day to say,

Lord, I thank you for today in every way.

    A Thought to Ponder

    images_310_Copy121.png

Have you ever wondered why we don’t win souls?

Is it because we’re not bold, or maybe we’re just too cold?

Maybe we never speak a word,

And there’s just nothing to be heard.

Maybe we’re not following God’s command

And just not lending a helping hand

Cause we’re living by our own plan.

Or maybe we just don’t show love,

The kind that comes from God above.

    Maybe we’re all about self,

And God’s Word just sits on a shelf.

Or maybe we read and just don’t heed.

Or maybe we think it’s a joke,

And we just don’t care how we talk to folk.

But isn’t it funny, when we’re in need,

    We think of God, indeed,

But we don’t think enough of Him to even plant a seed.

A seed can come in many forms and causes no one
