Armand's ancient house stood majestically in the midst of the city of Versaviz, like a monument to the past in a present that had forgotten its splendor. The time-worn ochre bricks held the stories of past generations. Its tall and enigmatic windows seemed to silently observe the passage of time and the secrets left behind.
An unusual rumor had been circulating among the family members in the weeks leading up to the gathering.
