A Lesson about Soul

Let’s start off with what is known beyond a shadow of a doubt.

We are made in God’s image.

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. (Genesis 1:27 KJV)

We know God has emotions.

And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. (Genesis 6:6 KJV)

Behold, My servant, whom I have chosen; My beloved, in whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My Spirit upon him, and he shall show judgement to the Gentiles. (Matthew 12:18 KJV)

For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. (Deuteronomy 4:24 KJV)

We are a spirit that has a soul that lives inside a body.

The soul is where our will, emotions, and intellect live.

This is why we have feelings of hurt, pain, fear, rejection, and so on.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV)

For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28 KJV)

Our spirit and soul intertwine together here on earth. Our soul (emotions) gets hurt.

We don’t forgive easy. The key to live a victorious life in Christ Jesus here on earth is to forgive. When we don’t, this emotion gets pushed down.
