Healed, Delivered, Set Free, Restored - Tanya Smith

    Introduction

My first book, Damaged But Not Broken book was geared towards victims and survivors of domestic violence, however the title covers so much pain and hurt. It covers damage from abuse, death, rape, divorce, disease, and sickness to just name a few.

This book will walk through many of these issues while giving you the tools to walk through the journey of your restoration. Walk out your healing, forgiveness, finding out who God says you are, being victorious and more. This book is designed to show you scriptures you can study and pray on to lead and guide you on your journey. It is written for male or females; trials do not have any gender-specific targets.

My prayer is that everyone reading this will find your deliverance and healing through God’s Word.

    With love,

    Tanya Smith, MDiv

    Trails of Life

There are so many trials and tribulations that we face just in our day-to-day lives. You also have the small ones, like missing an appointment, and then you also have those knockout, drag down trials and tribulations that hit us like a ton of bricks. It’s those trials of life that sometimes shake us to our core. There are some that cause us to question ourselves and sometimes even our walks with God. We may not question Him directly, but we have the why do these things happen to us question.

This book is not to answer that question because there are no answers. This book is to bring healing to the trials of life that we face. This section will go through some of those trials. Give you pieces of my trials and similar trials in the scriptures. However, I will share this: per an article by Michael Bradley entitled Trials and Tribulations – The Testing of Your Faith he states, I believe there are three main reasons as to why God Himself will allow a certain amount of adversity to come over way in this life. And unless you have a firm and solid grasp of these three basic reasons, you could find your own personal faith levels in the Lord being shaken to its very core every single time you have to deal with one of these heavier types of storm clouds. (1) the curse of Adam and Eve; (2) for our sanctification in the Lord; and (3) the testing of our faith in the Lord.[footnote 1]

When discussing the trials of life, we first need to know exactly what that means. Per dictionary.com the definition of trials and tribulations is, Tests of one’s patience or endurance.[footnote 2] The dictionary at Cambridge.org gives a definition of, troubles and events that cause suffering.[footnote 3] Lastly the Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition is, difficult experiences, problems, etc.[footnote 4]

There are several scriptures that talk about trials and tribulations and I will list some of them below. However, we need to understand that due to the fall of man in Genesis 3:1-24 every human being will face trials and tribulations. It doesn’t matter how good we are at spiritual warfare or how faithful we are as soldiers in God’s army. We all will have to go through trials, tribulations, and battles. We must stand on the Word of God and have faith knowing that we are victorious.

    Genesis 3:1

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?  ² And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, ³ but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ⁴ But the serpent said to the woman, You will not surely die. ⁵ For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. ⁶ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. ⁷ Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. ⁸ And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. ⁹ But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, Where are you? ¹⁰ And he said, I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself. ¹¹ He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat? ¹² The man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate. ¹³ Then the LORD God said to the woman, What is this that you have done? The woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate. ¹⁴ The LORD God said to
