About the Author
Dedication
This book is dedicated to all the people who decided to live and not die. To those who came through the fire of pain and abuse, both physical and mentally. You decided to live through the hurt and the shame of it all. I salute and honor you as I set my hand to the writing of this book.
Forward
Let me just say this: the Devil comes to kill, steal and to destroy. He tried to kill some of us at birth, but God. He tried to steal our mind and our future during our childhood and adolescent years with all the physical and emotional abuse, but God. He tried and is now trying to destroy our future by reminding us of all the pain and hurt we suffered in our past, hoping that we would have a mental breakdown, go into depression, or become angry, bitter and unforgiving, but God.
You must know that the Devil is a liar; he cannot block you or stop you if you allow God to "Turn Your Pain to Passion. Therefore, I ask the question
Why Die in Your Pain?"
Acknowledgment
To my loving husband of 41 years, Carl Ross Sr. for being patient during the countless hours I would be closed off in my office to author this book, and for the meals he would cook and cups of coffee, tea, water, snacks or whatever he thought would refresh me, he would bring to me in my office. Sometimes he would just stick his head in the door and say, you need anything
or you all right
, never complaining but being very supportive. And for that Elder Carl Ross Sr., I love, salute and honor you!!!
To my grown married children; Carl Ross Jr. his wife Laketa, Derek Ross, his wife Deidra and Desiree Ross Moore her husband Alex, for their opinions on the font and overall look of the cover.
To my 85-year-old mother Hattie Ivey, whom God is blessing to stay in her right mind and giving her mobility and strength to maintain her own apartment. Thank you for your love and encouragement.
To our Bishop, Kyle C Searcy, Presiding Bishop of Fresh Anointing House of Worship/ Fresh Oil Fellowship of Churches International, and his lovely wife Apostle Kemi Searcy / (WIMI) Women in Ministry International, for their awesome example of success, both spiritual and natural; and for their love and encouragement toward people regardless of their status in life.
My Lifeline Scripture
Psalm 91 NLT
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make the Lord
