The Conflict Within

About this ebook
Imagine you have sixty seconds to grab weapons for self-defense. You have been notified by the authorities that someone is in your neighborhood and planning an attack on you and your family. They have watched and studied your every move for some time. They know your areas of strength and weakness. They have listened to your words.
You wait, but nothing happens. You never saw anyone. Are you safe?
Someone is lying in wait, watching and carefully planning strategies of attack. The weapons you grabbed are not the weapons you need to defend yourself, because you are not fighting flesh and blood.

In Conclusion
Introduction
There is a huge deception going on in our lives. There is much division going on in our relationships, and our homes, which no longer feel like safe havens. This was intended to destroy anything good in our walk, or journey through life. I like to call our walk a journey, simply because a journey has twists and turns and lessons to be learned out of the experience itself.
Many people in your home, workplace, church, or inner social circle are struggling with the feelings of torment, sorrow, anguish, hurt, sadness, loneliness, discontentment, doubt, fear, confusion, or despair. You may be one of these people. There is hope, and there is a reason why people feel the way they do.
Sometimes if we understand why something is the way it is, we are able to cope better with what we feel at the moment or have been feeling for a while. Truthfully speaking though, most of us are tormented in one way or another by the way we feel and the thoughts we routinely have. There is a reason you feel and think the way you do. If you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior, your enemy is the Devil. He will deceive you in attempts to steal, kill, or destroy any good in your life. He aims to steal your joy, kill your spirit, and destroy anything good that may come your way.
If you are an unbeliever, again the Devil is your enemy. He doesn’t want you to accept Christ. He wants to kill, steal, and destroy you as well. He does this by deceiving us one thought at a time or one feeling at a time, maybe even throwing in different circumstances. He is known by many titles throughout the Bible. He is a murderer, a liar, a thief, a ruler, a controller, and a destroyer. He is the master accuser, tempter, deceiver, and manipulator. He is pure evil.
This book is intended to guide you step-by-step, by; showing you where deception comes from, why you are being deceived, and what you can do to avoid it. This book also will walk you through how you should be thinking, feeling, saying; and doing according to God’s plans for his believers.
I will be quickly throwing a lot of Scriptures and information at you in the beginning chapters. I will explain myself thoroughly. Take this book at a slow pace, and think about each chapter before moving onto the next. My prayer for you is that at the end of this book you know the enemy’s strategies and can be steadfast or unwavering on a solid foundation, which is God’s Word. I plan on teaching you how to hold each thought and emotion in captivity and how to compare every thought and emotion to God’s Word. If they don’t line up in accordance with each other, you need to know how to let go of those thoughts and feelings so your coping skills are not altered any longer. You no longer have to be a prisoner to your thoughts and emotions. God knew beforehand how the Devil would torment us through these things, and he left clear instructions for us to follow. I’m eager to point out these instructions to you.
Like many other Christians, I too fell into the many traps that the Devil sets. At a young age, I had health problems; anxiety, depression, and fear develop. My symptoms became worse as I grew older; and started a family of my own. It was not until after years of struggling, that God revealed to me through Scriptures; I no longer had to allow my emotions or fear to control me.
God’s Word allowed me to see Jesus Christ as my Wonderful Counselor
(Isaiah 9:6). He also was my teacher (John 3:2). My education comes from the Word of God, but also through experience.
CHAPTER 1
Deception
In starting this chapter, you will learn what the word deception means. You will also learn that before you and I even existed the Devil was hard at work, cleverly deceiving all the way back to Adam and Eve. I will show you how God created us for fellowship, but Satan wanted to destroy any fellowship. I will also show you how God made Satan the anointed cherub, perfect in beauty and full of wisdom. I will show how he was covered in every precious stone; and walked upon the holy mountain of God. That is, until God found iniquity or willful sin in him. Satan was not content with all God had given him, and his greed for more led to him being a fallen angel. As you read, take notes on what happened from the very beginning of time. Read the Scriptures from your Bible, and try to gain an understanding of what and who is deceiving you and why. Ask yourself these questions as you read, and when you are done with the chapter, answer them. Let me point out, not all the questions in this book will have the
