RULE #001
Start Now
Writing a book is a journey, a long and arduous one at that. It took me two years to get to where I am today. I started on small yellow post-it notes, jotting down motivational quotes that applied to my life and sticking them all over New York City. From buses to trains, to coffee shops and restaurants, I didn't care where I placed them. All that mattered was that I started. And that's the key, my friends. Starting is the hardest part. But without a beginning, there can be no end. So, if you're struggling to start a project or bring an idea to life, my advice to you is simple - START NOW! Don't wait for the perfect moment or the perfect idea. Just start and work out the kinks along the way. Experience is the greatest teacher, after all. Remember, every tree was once a seed.
TIP: Set a clear goal - Define your objective clearly and precisely. This helps you break down your plan into tangible and achievable steps. Write it down on a yellow sticky note, everyday for a year if you have to.

RULE #002
Embrace Failure
Embrace failure as a crucial part of the adventure to success, a mindset adopted by some of the most triumphant souls on this planet. It's recognizing that failure ain't a dead end, but a stepping stone towards growth, learning, and eventually, success. The secret to wielding the might of failure is to see it as a chance for growth, not a reason to throw in the towel.
One of the most precious lessons failure teaches us is humility. It's a reminder that we ain't flawless, and there's still a whole lot to learn. This humbling experience can be the spark for growth, nudging us to reevaluate our methods and strategies, and to hunt down fresh knowledge and skills. It also pushes us to be more receptive to feedback and criticism, essential ingredients for betterment.
Another vital lesson failure imparts is resilience. The capacity to bounce back from setbacks and keep going despite roadblocks is a crucial skill in chasing success. It's through the process of conquering challenges that we develop the mental and emotional grit needed to reach our objectives.
Failure also cultivates creativity and innovation. When things don't unfold as we hoped, we're forced to think unconventionally and cook up new solutions to problems. This can lead to earth-shattering ideas and breakthroughs that may have never come to light had we not encountered failure in the first place.
In a time when gas lighting ruled the world, Thomas Edison knew there had to be a better way. He had his sights set on creating an electric light that'd flip the script and change the game forever. The journey wasn't smooth, though – he had to battle through failures, doubt, and haters.
Edison was all about that trial and error life, testing everything from platinum to carbonized plant fibers to find the perfect filament for his light bulb. Each time he came up short, he learned a little more, getting closer and closer to that winning formula.
The world wasn't exactly cheering him on, though. As Edison's list of failed attempts grew, so did the doubts from his peers and the public. But Edison didn't let that noise bring him down. He famously clapped back, I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
Homie was relentless. In 1879, after countless experiments, he found the magic ingredient – carbonized bamboo. That discovery led to the birth of the practical incandescent light bulb, and it changed everything, from the way we live to the way we work and play.
Here's the thing: Edison's success came from a foundation of failures. With each setback, he learned, adapted, and inched closer to his ultimate goal. By embracing failure as part of the process, Edison shook up the world and earned his spot among the greatest inventors in history.
So, next time you face failure, remember Edison's story. Embrace it, learn from it, and use it as fuel to keep pushing forward. You never know when your own carbonized bamboo moment might come along.
