THE BLANKET LAY in a heap in the corner of the tiny quarters. It was light pink with flowers and stems in dark pink silhouette. Even though Lisa didn’t touch it, she knew just by looking that it was damp. It was splattered with mud stains. She’d stopped, startled, just watching the blanket as if it might disappear at any moment. It couldn’t be there. It was impossible.
She shivered. It was chilly, even though she knew the temperature in the spacesuit hadn’t changed. The air supply had a slight metallic taste, and
