Preface
Welcome to this collection of short stories designed for English learners! These stories are perfect for those at B2 to C1-levels. The storylines are easy to follow, with varied and familiar themes that you'll surely recognize and love. They are also very short for quick reading, making them ideal for enjoying even if you don't have a lot of time - for example, on your mobile device while on the go.
To get the most out of each story, we recommend reading them three times. The first time, just read through without looking up any vocabulary - don't worry if you don't understand everything, this is a normal part of the learning process. Try to get the general ideas and themes.
The second time, look up all the words and phrases you don't understand to build your vocabulary. Finally, on the third read, you should be able to understand most everything and can use this opportunity to reinforce your knowledge.
Remember, reading and re-reading these stories is the best and most natural way to improve your English. You'll subconsciously learn and absorb proper grammar and learn to utilize the language in a natural, native way. So, take your time and enjoy these short stories!

But it was the discovery of the Florentine steak that would be etched forever in their memories.
They had heard whispers of this legendary masterpiece, a succulent and savory steak that was a specialty of the region. They set out on a quest to find the best rendition of this fabled cut of beef, seeking out local chefs and grilling aficionados who swore by their own methods and techniques.
