Introduction: Stories You Will Never Forget
This book contains unforgettable stories that also provide important life lessons in many areas of life such as health, wealth, and happiness. The stories teach us a wide range of things like how to live a life of meaning, joy, and prosperity. The stories are both entertaining and inspirational for people of all ages. These unique stories have the power to change your life!
Let’s begin with a story about the importance of having knowledge and understanding in life by examining what life is like without it. Let’s actually take a look inside the mind of an ignorant man.
Have you ever wondered why do some of the most ignorant and misguided people actually believe they are the most enlightened and knowledgeable? Here is a story illustrating how the complete lack of knowledge about something can allow someone to believe that they know more than they do, and to believe that they performed better than they did.
One
A Beautiful Boat
There once was a man, named Bubba, who thought very highly about himself. He felt that whatever he believed was right, and anybody who believed something else was an idiot. He was so sure of himself that he never bothered to check for evidence to support any of his beliefs, he never tried to learn more about things he did not know, and he never bothered to try to see things from a different perspective. But he always felt that everything he did based on his unchecked beliefs was great!
One day he was looking for extra work near the small town where he lives. As he is traveling to the business center he sees a sign, boat builders needed, no experience needed
so he goes inside the building. Inside is an old man know as Mr. R. Mr. R greets him and explains that he is sponsoring a documentary film which features boat making, and that he needs people of different experience levels to build a boat and to evaluate their results. Bubba is happy to get paid to build a boat, but he has never even seen a boat and admits he has no experience. Mr. R says that he would be ideal for the film since he has never even seen a boat. Another man named Steve is a master boat builder and is also told by Mr. R that he is ideal for the film and is hired to build a boat too.
Bubba is given a box of tools and pointed to an opening in the forest near the lake to build his boat from the trees. While Steve is sent to the lake shore on the other side of the hill with the same box of tools.
All Bubba knows about boats is what he has heard others say about them, he only knows that a boat is made of wood and is supposed to float in water. Bubba never bothered to learn more or to ask anyone even when he gets the job to build the boat.
They both go on to create their own boat. Now when they were both done building their boats the results are quite different, but the biggest gap turns out to be each one’s perception of what they accomplished.
In this case, Bubba was patting himself on the back and celebrating making a boat of twigs tied together. Bubba thinks he is a genius and is very proud of his accomplishment which he feels is beautiful. Mr. R films this and then asks Bubba, How did you do?
Bubba smiles and proudly says, I did a fantastic job, I made a boat out of wood that floats, see how smart I am!
Mr. R next goes to Steve, and films him and his boat. Steve appears to be a little dissatisfied with his boat. Steve is thinking that his boat’s artistic style was not exactly as he had intended, even though he had build a beautifully detailed and fully functional boat. Then while filming Mr. R asks Steve, How did you do?
And Steve says, I did ok, it is just that I did not perfectly match all the colors in deck. I could have done better.
Later Mr. R plays this segment of the film for both of the boat builders with a third observer, a man named Reality. Reality is tasked with evaluating the boats. Reality sees Bubba’s boat and is not sure even what it is, then he sees Bubba bragging about his beautiful twig boat. Next Reality sees Steve’s boat, it
