I READ an article in The New York Times today about feeling alive again. There were familiar tips – being mindful, appreciating what you have, doing the things you love.

But there was a piece that really struck me. Try to find fascination in everything, author Katherine May advises. It can be in even the littlest things like the reflection of light on a cup of coffee or an interesting bug in your grass or garden.

“We’ve told ourselves that everything needs to be so big,” she says. “Actually, we can just breathe out and live quite small lives.”

I find it intriguing because so many of us are searching for these big things to help make our existence better, sometimes forgetting a rich life can be made up of millions of small things.
