It focuses on a journey of sorts while being in the US Navy and life after service.

I wanted to write down my thoughts and feelings; I just could not keep them to myself. And I hope the reader enjoys the book as much as I enjoyed researching and putting into words what I was feeling.

I had a dream that I was Marilyn Monroe. I had blond hair that had been dyed. In the scene there were always cameras and I was always on. My husband or boyfriend was shorter than me. He gave all the orders. I had on a blue suit, and when the pressure became too great and I couldn’t take a shit, I walked away.

I remember walking along the street and I could see ships in the distance. You didn’t need any special ID to walk along the street. I was a civilian! I went to the hamburger / hot dog stand and had only thirty-nine cents to my name. I didn’t even have enough to buy a hot dog!

It seems so surreal to be always on, never getting a break but really so desperately needing one.
