She gave him a teasing look. Is this how it will always be? We have been married three days, and already you are too busy to give me your undivided attention.

Forgive me, love, he said with a twinkle in his eye. I’m in the middle of writing a letter. You may have my undivided attention as soon as it’s finished. He went back to his work.

She gazed at him playfully, then went and locked the door. Standing behind his chair, she draped her arms over his shoulders and kissed his ear.

He caressed her hands. That is sweet, but you’re distracting me. I might spill a bottle of ink if you keep that up.

Ignoring his scold, she untied his cravat. She kissed a trail across his neck from the juncture of his shoulder to his nape.

This is your last warning. His tone turned sharp, but she knew it was part of their game. If you do not behave yourself, I shall punish you.
