CHAPTER 1

With the final legs of their trek to Pemberley behind them and the glorious estate peeking through the trees at them in greeting, the Darcys’ carriage was nearly home. With it, the Darcys themselves, fresh from their honeymoon trip to Bath and more than ready to begin their normal, married lives together.

Elizabeth, in particular, was anxious to familiarize herself with her new home. Having seen it only once before, months earlier, it wasn't as fresh in her memory as she wished it to be.

Her mouth fell open as the entirety of the house came into view, a gasp breaking the silence as she squeezed her husband's hand in excitement. Oh, William! she murmured. It's just as I remembered it…
