The Power of Positive Vibes - Theresa de Jesus

    Positive Vibes

We would love to have positive vibes. When you feel good about yourself, you give off positivity as though it's an inviting aura that draws the world (and, of course, success) to you.

    Sound good?

Here's the bad news. While positive vibes might be the goal, no one is just born with them. Positivity takes work and only happens by design. You have to be a positive thinker and be willing to do what it takes to maintain this outlook despite the day-to-day challenges we all face.

Is it worth it? Absolutely. But you can’t get there unless you first understand what positive thinking, or positivity, is all about.

    What is Positive Thinking?

The problem with Pollyanna, though, is her positivity, while sweet, is sometimes too much. She can be unreasonably happy about every circumstance, so when we hear her name now, we tend to think someone is being foolishly positive in an over-the-top way.

Unfortunately, this is often what people believe positive thinking is.

This isn't really the case. Positive thinking is about reducing negativity in your mindset and attitude. It does involve trying to see the silver lining in a situation, but that’s only a small part. True positivity has more to do with psychology and less with wishful thinking than you might have previously thought.

According to noted Psychologists, Bekhet and Zauszniewski, positive thinking is made up of eight distinct behaviors:

Turning negative self-talk into more positive statements.

Looking for whatever is positive in
