About this ebook
The poems in these pages will take you through the emotional lows and highs the author experienced, reaping what would seem to be the consequences of poor decisions and planning.
This period posed a potential threat of a deep depression as most of the pain appeared to be self-inflicted.
However, these meditations, prayers, supplications and affirmations helped him through, and the amazing hand of God healed his heart. These poems lifted him out of the place of fear and hopelessness into a place of trust, hope and will to continue pursuing his vision. Out of this experience was born a prayerful, wiser and goal-focused individual.

Time Will Indeed Reveal - Elliot Eli
Do not turn me away
––––––––
My desire for You,
Deepens in trying times.
My need for You,
Is unquestionable in tough times.
I admit my insufficiency
Life is hard to bear sometimes.
When I humble myself before You
Do not turn me away Mighty God.
Refocus
––––––––
In trying times the situation
Demands all my attention.
Only to turn the little hope remaining
Into a sea of depression.
My spirit desires God
But is constantly under suppression.
Lord, I know that You desire my heart
Help me stay focused no matter the situation.
Rescue me
––––––––
I can feel it flowing through my bones.
The anxiety and stress are almost too much to bear.
The past is seemingly unforgiving and intent on punishing me.
My foolishness could cripple me, rush Lord to rescue me.
I shall live and not die
––––––––
I lay down tossing about
as my head endured so much pain.
It came in different waves
Stopped a short while and returned again.
Chaotic doesn’t begin to describe
The throbbing in my brain.
I couldn’t allow this to be my end
So I went on a campaign.
‘I shall live and not die'
Became the slogan in my head.
My heart prayed relentlessly
Convincing my mind this was not the end.
I kept on calling on Jesus’ Name
Declaring this was not my end.
I lived so I testify
On that day, my life was spared.
Speak life
––––––––
Why do dreams affirm the opposite of what I am praying for?
They falsely prophesy doom but a way out is what I am believing for.
I go to bed believing for a better tomorrow only to wake up with little hope.
Dreams done did all they could to strip me of it all before dawn.
Rescue me from these bad dreams, I plead dear Lord.
Turn my dreams to visions affirming the breakthrough I implored.
Speak life to me through the night and my hope will be restored.
All the fear will disappear and in my heart You will be adored.
When You are silent
––––––––
When You are silent
Unhealthy thoughts flood my mind.
When I pray and see no improvement
I question Your presence in my life.
Am I not appealing to You hard enough,
Don’t you not hear my plea to turn the tide?
I can’t fight for myself,
This is the Lord’s, not my fight.
Do not miss the lesson
––––––––
I desire to know what You want achieve from this.
I want to know the lesson I am meant to learn from it.
I don’t want the cycle to repeat
