Reflections and Meditations

About this ebook
Reflections and Meditations is a book made up of real-life reflections, thoughts, meditations, prayers, psalms compiled over several months. In these poems is concern, worry, fear, frustration, hope, resolve, praise and worship. Though they may have been written over a few months, some of these thoughts have been on the author's mind for years and some of the realities mentioned remain a challenge for the author. A young man, young woman, an adult or an elderly person may relate to any of these poems and the author hopes that after we have identified and acknowledged the problems we face, we may believe the future can still be great. The breath of life is evidence that we can still turn our lives around, we can still give God the glory He deserves, we can still appreciate Him every second of the day. Even if we do not share even close to the same life experiences, may the psalms be our common ground.

Live for You
From the inside out
From hurt, my heart would prompt
My uncultured mouth to speak forth.
With a heart so cold,
Something to destroy my tongue sought.
The exact words I spoke,
I cannot recall.
I remember vividly
That I cast down a few souls.
I was vile from the inside out,
From within my heart I spoke.
My life turned around
When by Jesus I was found.
Only He could change
A heart seemingly made from stone.
All the hurt I let go,
For by His love I was found.
From the inside out I was changed
He changed the utterances of my mouth.
To those I hurt with words
I was lost then, but now I am found.
Forgive me for careless chatter,
I hope I ran not your self-esteem aground.
My tongue no longer speaks out of turn,
I had a complete renewal of heart.
What happened is profound,
I’ve been changed from the inside out.
Looks
The guilt from my imperfections
My heart will not let go.
I am burdened with resentment
Unbeknownst to all.
The hurt I feel deep within,
On the outside will never show.
No one knows the war
