About the Author
…the Whale
Bodhi awoke to the sound of rain,
up she jumped and began to pray,
"Oh nature, oh nature so loyal and true
by nature, alone, we are allegiant to you."
All the birds heard,
and all the wolves bayed.
Every worm jiggled,
and every hen laid.
Even the owl, gave a Hoo! Hoo!
After hearing the sound of Bodhi’s true tune,
when up came some whales,
onto the shore,
all of them shouting, I can’t take anymore!
So, Bodhi stopped praying,
and realized today,
today’s not for praying, but for showing the way.
"Hello pretty whales! Why do you despair?
Why do you cry? Why do you care?
Why are you fitting? Why are you scared?
Why have you washed up? Why are you here?"
They all looked at Bodhi,
and suddenly felt warm.
They felt her intention,
and calmed to her charm,
then said to each other,
"How can it be? That this of all things,
is the last thing we see?"
