    About the Author

    Acknowledgments

Iwant to thank my heavenly father and my Lord Jesus Christ first, for saving, delivering, and healing me and my family. I thank God for saving my soul, for baptizing and filling me with the Holy Ghost when I was a young adult. I thank God for continuing to fill me with his spirit over and over again. I want to thank God for saving and baptizing my family with the Holy Spirit as well.

I am thankful for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. I thank God for his mercy, his grace, and his favor. I thank God for his protection, his provision, his wisdom, his knowledge, his understanding, his power, and his anointing. I am so thankful and so grateful for the love of God. I am thankful for his tender mercies and the loving-kindness that he has bestowed upon my family and me. I will never cease to thank God for sending his Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us. I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for doing exceeding and abundantly above all that we could ask or think.

I thank my husband, Tyson Lamont Wright. I met him over twenty-six years ago, and since we have been together, there is no man on this earth who can say I have looked at him sideways (i.e., showed interest in them), not because they didn't look or act the part but because I know the grass is greener on this side.

I thank God for keeping me and my husband as individuals and as a married couple. Tyson is a very unique being, and I dare not try to make him out to be like someone else. He is a mighty man of God, a mighty man of valor, because it's what you do at home that counts to a wife and her children. This loyalty and faithfulness will be reflected to others in your life.

A scripture that God gave us when we first got married is Isaiah 54:17 (paraphrased): No weapon formed against you shall prosper and every mouth that rise up against you shall be condemned. He confirmed that a few Sundays later in church as a reminder. My sister-in-law, my husband's brother's wife, was praising God and said, No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Many have quoted that scripture to us, and it is always in my spirit. During this pandemic, my sister-in-law Vanessa called me, and for the first time (at least it was the first time that I heard her pray for us in the Holy Ghost), she began to pray for me and Tyson. The Holy Ghost spoke blessings over Tyson, the children, my granddaughter, and myself. One thing I remember her praying is It's working for your good and No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every mouth that rise against you and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

Because of you, Tyson, I am authentic. God has used you to keep me real, authentic. I have enjoyed this journey with you. I would rather do this with you than with any other man on this earth or any planet. I remember when we were first married, you would put up your tripod and record you and me performing skits. I rejoice as I think that God knew we would be onstage together as actors in the Wright Penn Company. With God's favor on our lives, I can truly say, Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard what God has planned for our lives because we love God and we have waited for him. God has great things in store for you and me.

I thank my oldest daughter, Tylisha Wright. I am so proud of you. Even when your daddy and I saw you in my womb on the sonogram, we could see that you are beautiful. I am proud of you for staying focused and not letting the negative experiences in your life determine who you are and who you will be. You are destined for greatness.

I thank my youngest daughter, Tyasia, or Twinkle. I love you and I am so proud of you. You proved from the womb that you have what it takes to win. I love how you rejoice and praise the Lord. Don't ever stop shouting, praising, and giving God the glory. You are destined for greatness as well.

I thank my granddaughter, little Sofia. You are a one-of-a-kind granddaughter, and I love you. I love to hear you call me Nana, and I've learned so much from you as a little person. Just like your name, Sofia, which means wisdom, you are wise. It has been said that you are much wiser than I realize. Your dance teacher called you a firecracker. You have a personality that tells new people we meet that you already know them. You are a gem to your Poppy and I, and we love you so much. Greater is coming for you.

I'm grateful to say that my daughters, granddaughter, and I are Proverbs 31 women, women of virtue.

I give love to my mother, Cornelia Pinky Hughes, and to my sisters and brothers. I have seen my mother give so unselfishly to her children and especially to her grandchildren, standing in the gap when biological fathers were not around, or when the mothers in the family were young and needed support. You have always been here for me, Mama, and I love you for that.

I'm thankful for my mother-in-law, Minister Belvain Wright. I wouldn't be where I'm at today if it wasn't for
