dedicate this collection of poems to my mother, Jeannine Yvonne Wise, and to my children for their love and support during mother’s ten year standoff with cancer. They were blessed with granmere’s love and humor from birth into their teens. They respected and adored their granmère.

The journey of grief is different for everyone. For me, writing is therapeutic, thus, these poems to my mother soothed my heartache.

I learned during my teens and early adult years when confronted with adversity, that putting ‘pen to paper,’ is a healing balm.
