About this ebook

I began writing poetry as a hobby. I didn’t realize how many poems I had written throughout the years, until I was advised to have them published. The purpose of the verses in this book that are written from my thoughts, experiences, and the events in my life are to be an inspiration to the readers. In expressing my feelings and emotions, I hope they will touch your heart and have a positive impact on your life. I share my poetry with you for your pleasure and for your enjoyment.

    Deceased Children

Dedicated to the memory of my grandmother Maria Remedio Rosario, aka Mapita. She sacrificed a lot for me, in giving me a good education, lots of love, understanding, and compassion during my childhood years. Mapita taught me to be strong, kind, and to never give up in life. It’s because of all her support that I have become the woman that I am today, and I thank her with all my heart.

    Sentiments

Through my poetry, I wish to express my God-given talent,

And to touch the hearts of all who read these verses.

    Family

    Siblings

    Seven children all in all

Raised in a project when we were small

    Poverty was our middle name

    We didn’t have much

But we loved each other just the same

Our mother did the best she could

In raising us as a mother would

Though there were times when things were rough

We all hung in there ’cause we were tough

Now we are five instead of seven

For two of us have gone to heaven

The years that passed were happy ones

For we were together and that was fun

Reflecting back on all those years

With thoughts of happy times and tears

It seemed as though time passed us by

And it’s on our memories that we rely

We’re siblings gone in separate ways

Yet in our hearts our love still stays

Now that we are older we can see

That the future seemed to set us free
