CHAPTER 1

JESUS CAME TO DESTROY THE WORK OF SATAN

I John 3:8 NKJV

8 He who Sins is of the devil, for the devil has Sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

As we can see from the scripture, the devil is the one that brought sin to the world. The first man that Sinned as we know is Adam through his wife who was deceived by the devil by making her eat the forbidden fruit (Genesis3:1-9). But we have been saved by his Son Jesus Christ who was crucified on the cross to make atonement for our Sins. Ascending to heaven, Michael, cast the devil from heaven and to earth. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. And that work is the fear of death and Sins that enslaves us all. By conquering death, Jesus freed us from the bondage of fear of death and delivered us from Sin. Now we no longer live by the fear that leads to Sin. We seek to live out of love, which, when perfected, dispels all fear (1 John 4: 8).

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil according to God’s plan. God created eternal fire for the devil and his angels. So following the devil means then destroying him forever. Hence, Jesus broke the devil’s schemes at the cross. Our three enemies are Satan, Sin, and Death. Satan uses the latter two (sin and death) as powers to enslave and destroy us {Rom 6}. When we agree with Satan, we show that he is our father {John 8:44}. He was a liar from the beginning and leads the world and its powers to deceive and perish the world forever. John writes, We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness {1 John 5:19}. Jesus brings us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light {Col 1:13}. We enter the kingdom of God, which is the presence of God and his Son Christ - light from light. Until the end, we live on the highway in a struggle for virtue. To love God, and do good anguishes the enemy who wants to deceive us, force us to lie, ruin what is good, and turn it into a flawed servant of God. Because he was cast out of heaven, Satan rages against the church like a roaring lion. But we have the crown of victory over him in Christ, that we may overcome sin: We know that whosoever is born of God sinned not: but he that is begotten of God kept himself, and that wicked one touched him not {1 John 5:18}. Only the gospel can restore us or give birth to God so that we can defeat the devil and his works through Christ. This is the message that the New Testament emphasizes.

Satan and his army fought against humanity, but it was sad that many Christians did not realize the scale of this war. This spiritual and biblical war teaches a lot about the work of enemies and spiritual warfare. The devil tempts us to sin. If you are a Christian, he physically causes disease and seeks to destroy those who bear the image of God. Intellectually, he seduces us with mistakes. In addition, he deeply blinds the psyche of unbelievers if they see and accept the gospel. On the planet, Satan uses money, sex, and opportunities to protect many people from knowing God through his Son, Jesus Christ. Money is the backbone of all needs; so many malicious and indescribable difficulties for products are caused by money. Satan and his powers work in all four corners so that people are far from knowing God. Perhaps praying for a question without an answer for a while, then the adversary will reveal to you that your God cannot answer your prayers, and on the other hand, at that time you will be against the enemy.
