About this ebook

I have written this book because of the sorrows that addiction has brought upon every community in the United States of America. At the church that I attend, the pastor once asked the congregation how many people had been affected by addiction. Everyone there raised their hands. Behind every addict are loved ones: mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, husbands, and wives. They all have families. Addiction doesn't happen in a bubble. The lives of many others are also touched by the addict. The passing of the addict also brings great sorrow to many. Not just because of the death of a loved one, but also because of the potential of that person having been lost because of addiction. My hope with the writing of this book is that the addicts would "wake up." In some way, they would be shaken out of this stupor and realize their purpose and plan God has called them to in this life. And by living their life to the glory of God, they might bring others with them along the way through the principles laid down in this book. I have also felt the need to bring the message of redemption and recovery found in our Lord Jesus Christ to those who are in desperate need of hearing it the most. The Lord Jesus Christ can change and transform lives, even yours. If America is ever going to be delivered from the plague of Addiction, then America is going to have to return to the God and Savior that made America a great and prosperous nation to begin with. May God bless you and the reading of this book.

    Introduction

Addiction has become a plague upon American culture, and we need to attack it head on! The addicts who have turned their lives over to the Lord Jesus Christ, have not only found deliverance from addiction but also have a great peace and joy in their lives being free from addiction.

This book is for the purpose of bringing the addict from deliverance, to a heavenly destiny, founded upon the Bible and faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

If the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:36).

    Reality, Part 1

When it comes to Addiction, we have to ask ourselves, Do I really want to stop getting High? This is first and foremost. We can’t just look for a time-out when it comes to our Addiction," but a new way of life. That search begins with us, with me.

This is, of course, The Bible’s Answer to Addiction. This is a program based upon the Bible and saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Addiction is an outgrowth of man’s fallen nature. We first have to come to the realization that addiction is sin; it’s not a disease that I’ve inflicted upon myself, and it’s not something that I can blame on others. It’s a sin, and the sooner I can come to that realization, then the easier it will be to bring it before God. If we can come to the understanding that I’m dealing with sin in my life, then we can come to the knowledge of who God is. We can then see that the Lord Jesus Christ came and died on the cross to forgive us of our sins. Not only to forgive us but also to deliver us from our sins. The Christian has brought the sin of Addiction to the foot of the cross and asked our Lord Jesus Christ to not only forgive me of my sins but to also take them from me.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9, NKJV).

God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness. God’s desire is to restore back to us our humanity. All that Addiction took from us. Our joy, our peace, our desire for those things outside of our Addiction. The things we can accomplish with our God-given talents are restored at the foot of the cross.

Therefore, If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV).

We are a new creation, and that work starts from within. New motivations, new desires, a new care for those around us (we begin to see the needs of others and not just taken up with our own needs). We have a different view of the world and the things that happen around us. We have a confidence that God is in control and by His Grace I can live out each day to His glory. Not that all of a sudden we are perfect, but that we have an understanding that when we sin, we can bring it to the Lord and be forgiven of that sin and find grace to deal with that sin. We have found in our Lord Jesus Christ the strength, the help, and the enabling to not only battle Addiction but to also overcome it.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57, NKJV). So this is an invitation, as we continue on this trek that we call life, to enjoy the reality of having our sins forgiven, finding restoration with God, and being put on a path that has joy and peace. We’re still going to have trials and tribulation along the way, but in the end, it will be a life that has profound meaning and purpose in relationship to God and eternity.

What we need to see and understand is Who is JESUS CHRIST? Who
