Time heals all wounds
is a statement that has not been proven true in my life’s journey. I would say the wound may heal a little, but it is still there and tender to the touch in certain situations. During different times, the pain from it may trigger your emotions causing you to go back to a feeling you experienced when it first happened.
Preface
The year 2010 was a bittersweet year for me.
In February, I signed the papers to purchase my first home. That was one of the most exciting moments for me. Being a single mother, trying to create a stable home and environment for my child was one of my main goals. God made it possible for me to attain it at an early age. I’ll never forget the feeling I had on that day…so accomplished and grateful.
In July, we took a family trip to San Antonio. Taking yearly family trips had become something we did often. I loved my parents so much, and spending time with them meant a lot to me. Anyone who still has involved parents, I encourage you to stay close and enjoy every moment because we can be here today and gone in an instant. As an adult, it felt good taking trips with the family, especially since they had grandkids now and, of course, they wanted to spend time with their grandkids and spoil them. San Antonio was somewhere my mom had been wanting to go for a while, and we finally made it happen, not knowing this would be the last trip we would be able to take together. My mom had been sick for a few years, battling with cancer. I prayed and prayed
