Spirit of A First Lady: Wife of a Pastor
()
About this ebook
To every married man of the cloth that’s in high office of a bishop, pastor, or apostle, that has a church building or a place of worship, the title of First Lady automatically becomes a part of her life, whether they have the right spirit or not. When you search the word First Lady, you will find that the only definition is the wife of the president of the United States. In most denominations, pastor’s wives are First Ladies in the church world. It sounds distinguished and looks glamorous, but all it means is you are the wife of a leader of an organization. Being a married couple, you are one, so that means his load becomes your load and his hurts becomes your hurt and so on. Being in ministry and being the wife of a pastor is a very serious position in the body of Christ; you must be supportive in every way, working diligently for the kingdom of God.
I’ve seen, met, and fellowshipped with many of them and came to the realization that the characteristics of a First Lady (wife of a pastor) must be spiritual. Some First Ladies sit like trophies on a shelf, looking beautiful, shinning like a diamond, but as she began to sit and look like a queen, without the love and spirit of God living on the inside of her heart, dust will begin to land on the surface of her heart clogging up her ears, blinding up her eyes, and showing fourth what the Bible calls the spirit of darkness. As you begin to read and meditate on the spirit of a First Lady, you will see how having the spirit of God living inside you makes the difference in dealing with people who the word of God call souls weather there in or out of the church. You will also see that underneath that exquisite hat is a radiant smile, a heart full of praise, and a never-ending blessing.

Spirit of A First Lady - Zena Campbell
The Spirit of God
The word of God says in the book of Genesis 1:1 (KJV), In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Now God is our father who created us, also how he made man (see Genesis 1:26–27). So very easy to understand you just have to believe it.
The Word of God
is also easy to understand: the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the son of God (Mark 1:1 KJV) for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16 KJV). But what is the spirit of God
?
The spirit of God in the Old Testament, the Hebrew word translated as spirit
in the term spirit of God
is (pronounced) roo-awkh which surprisingly too many literally means breath or more specifically, exhalation, breathing out. Breath
may not seem to make sense as a term for spirit until one appreciates the fact that breath represents life, a living creative force, as plainly described in these verses in which breath is used as an analogy for the spirit of God.
Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being (soul) (see Genesis 2:21–23), how a woman was made from a man (Adam’s side).
So we see that from the beginning the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Genesis 1–2) and that same spirit lives in me today.
The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the almighty hath given me life
(Job 33:4 KJV).
The spirit of God
in the New Testament, the Greek word translated as spirit
in the term spirit of God
is (pronounced) new-mah which means the same thing as the Old Testament word mentioned above. Breath but with a much more profound usage—the Old Testament word was generally used to refer to the creating of physical life, while the New Testament Word is used to refer to the power that will, in due time, after serving as a deposit
or guarantee
until then who hath also sealed us and given the earnest of the spirit in our hearts (2 Corinthians 1:22 KJV).
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water and lo; the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the spirit (new-mah, breath
) of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven saying, This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased
(Matthew 3:16–17 KJV).
And grieve not the Holy Spirit (i.e., new-mah, breath
) of God whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30 KJV).
For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:14 KJV) (by Wayne Black).
The Spirit of Man/Woman
Spirit—the life principal or the soul in man. The Bible reveals that there is a spiritual component that is in a human being. Remember, we were made in the image and likeness of God.
But there is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the almighty gives them understanding (awareness and intelligence through this spirit in us by His spirit) (Job 32:8).
But as it is written: "eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart (mind) of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him, but God has revealed (them) to us through his spirit. For the spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, how can man know or think and understand and perceive and have consciousness of self except through the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the spirit of God; now we have received not the spirit of the world but the spirit which is from God, that we might know the (spiritual) things that have been freely given to us by God (1 Corinthians 2: 9–14).
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man (the natural mind) does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him nor can he know (them) because they are spiritually discerned.
The spirit (holy) itself bears witness with our spirit (in man) that we are the children of God: And we were created to worship him (Romans 8:16).
A bee cannot go out and build an ant hill nor can an ant build a bee hive; they do what they were created to do. I am created to worship God in spirit and in truth.
I love what David said in Psalm 51:10, Create in me a clean heart, O God: and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners shall be converted unto thee. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death
(1 John 5:17). We are the righteousness of God, and being the righteousness of him should make us want to do those things that are right in his sight. The first thing that comes out of our mouth is we all have sinned and come short of his glory. Amen! But does that give you permission to do whatever you want to do and not take notice that if you have God living on the inside of you, knowing that he is a Holy God should you try and be holy too? You know what’s funny to me, it’s easy to sin; what is sin? Anything you can think of that’s not like God. But it is hard to live right. Jesus makes the difference in our life.
Let’s be doers of the word and not just hearers (James 1:22). God has people in his kingdom down here, which are living a clean and righteous life. How do you know that First Lady Campbell? Because I am one of them along with many others; there are many more who I know of and some I don’t know at all. There is one thing I want the world to know; out of all the downfalls, we hear about in the body of Christ. It’s not happening to everybody in the church. We are the church. We as individuals are churches, and if we ask ourselves a question, it would be this. If everybody in my church was like me, what kind of church would my church be? Go ahead ask yourself, then really think about it.
No! According to the book of Jude in the Bible, the first verse says that Jude was a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ, called and chosen. Jude is saying to us today to fight! Contend! Do battle! When apostasy arises, when false teachers emerge, when the truth of God is attacked, it is time to fight for the faith. Only believers who are spiritually in shape
can answer the summons. At the beginning of his letter, Jude focuses on the believers’ common salvation but then feels compelled to challenge them to contend for the faith. The danger is real. False teachers have crept into the church, turning God’s grace into an unbounded license to do as they please.
Jude reminds such men of God’s past dealings with unbelieving Israel, disobedient angels, and wicked Sodom and Gomorrah. In the face of such danger, Christians should not be caught off guard. The challenge is great but so is the God who is able to keep you from stumbling.
Saints should be the teachers of men, but because of the immaturity and disorder in ministry, they have a need to be taught first principles again. If God said it’s a sin, then it’s a sin; if he said it is an abomination, then it’s an abomination. Don’t try and change the word of God; for some reason, we like to dress the word of God up so that we can’t see the real true nakedness of the word. I believe the reason we dress it up is because the word will find you out if it becomes uncovered. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Let’s break it down; the Word of God doesn’t need sugarcoating, hat, gloves, shoes, stockings, coat, lipstick, makeup, and anything else you can put on it. If you want to live right, you will; if you don’t, you won’t. It’s as simple as that. There is one phrase I personally don’t like, and I hear it all the time. Don’t judge me, I am not judging you, but I am telling you about the judge who’s going to judge all of us one day soon. Here is a song that’s ringing in my soul right this minute. Children fight on your time ain’t long; children fight on your time ain’t long. The race is not given to the swift or strong but to them that hold on until the end.
As you venture through spirit of a First Lady, you will see that I too needed to make a decision to choose life, and let God live through me and I in him in spirit and in truth. And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).
Pearlie asked a very important question, What is the Word of God?
Most people these days will say that it also includes what the spirit tells
them or impress upon them. Which if you think about it, could be the reason why the Bible is seldom read, preached, studied, and obeyed; they are convinced that the spirit speaks
to them anyway. I agree that the spirit does speak
to us and impress
upon us the truth, but I firmly believe that the spirit reminds and teaches us based on what we have learned from God’s revelation that is written in the Bible. The spirit does not add to it; he helps us understand it. So we still come back to the hearing, reading, preaching, studying, and obedience of the written scriptures in all its depth and simplicity. We must hear, read, and study it every day for ourselves.
Preachers must preach the word not give anecdotes or may I say not even what he thinks the spirit impressed upon
