Bill Arthur

Bill Arthur started his walk with the Lord in May of 1999. In a very short time, after being born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit, an unquenchable hunger and thirst came over him, and he read the word of God for over five hours a day for a period of about a year and a half. After reading the scripture that says that the Holy Spirit searches the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10), Bill prayed that the Holy Spirit would reveal those deep things to him. Being led to pray for a healing and deliverance ministry, even before he knew what that was, Bill was led to walk a path where he saw the Lord do many miracles through his hands: healings and demons being cast out through God’s word. The gifts and manifestations of the Spirit were on full display, and the Lord gave him revelation through His word of what was happening—and the why and how of it. Bill has walked in the fivefold ministry as a prophet/seer, teacher, apostle, evangelist, and now a pastor. This is Bill’s first book, with many more to follow. Bill’s knowledge of getting people set free from all kinds of bondage, mind-sets, and destructive habits is a revelation given to Bill, but it is for the benefit of the children of the God (Matthew 15:26).

    Preface

If you’re reading this book, you may be searching for something: the answer to the feeling that there is something down deep inside you, the feeling that you’re more than what you appear to be.

My prayer is that through this book I will be able to reveal to you what that is.

Science will try to tell you that people have evolved like animals, but if that is true, then why have people been the only living beings in creation that have been able to accomplish what we have? There are many different ideas and philosophies on where people came from and how they developed into what and who they are. This book brings a revelation of the truth of that. It comes from the Word of God, the Bible.

Before I can teach the function of the spiritual realm and the means for walking in the Spirit, I must first reveal who you are in relation to it.

    Acknowledgments

God, in His great love, has shown that love for me by putting incredible people in my life. As much as Simon had to help the Lord carry His cross, so too have you all helped me to fulfill the Lord’s desire to have this book published.

To my wife, who keeps me uplifted in prayer when the world gets heavy.

To Kirk and Carla for your help and friendship: may God bless you with all your hearts’ desires.

To Jim and Melissa, who throughout the years have been such an incredible blessing to me and my family: may God’s blessing and favor overtake you and cover you in everything you do, everywhere you go, and with everyone you meet.

To my brothers and sisters in Christ: your prayers and support have touched me greatly, and I love you all.

To the Lord of Hosts and our Father in heaven: You are awesome, and my love and appreciation for You is eternal.

    Introduction

The spiritual realm for Christians should be more real than the natural realm we live in. If you are a Christian—one whom God has called to be His spiritual son or daughter through the receiving of His Son, Jesus, for the forgiveness of sins—you have become alive spiritually, your name being written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

You see, as Jesus told Nicodemus, you must be born again. Everyone is born physically alive and spiritually dead, and by being born again (which I will go over later), you became alive spiritually by the power of the Holy Spirit. By putting your thoughts and desires aside, and by being led by the Spirit of God, you bring this scripture to pass: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2:20).

This book is written to teach you that you can walk and live in the Spirit of God—and to reveal the truth about who and what you are.

    You Are Spirit

    In the Beginning

If we start off in the beginning of the Bible, the book of Genesis, we can read about how God created everything. In this book I’m only concerned with people—where people came from, how they are made, and what they are made of. After God created the earth, sun, moon, and stars, He created the fish and the animals. And then, as recorded in Genesis 1:26, He created man.

Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth. (Genesis 1:26–28).

I want to point out that in this passage of scripture God spoke in a way that shows He was speaking to someone else. He used the words "make man in our image and after our likeness. So then we have to ask ourselves, Who was God speaking to? In the New Testament in the book of John, chapter 1, God explained how this all came about. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. (John 1:1–4) It says here that all things were made by Him and for Him, and this is talking about God’s Word. We were created by the Word of God. This passage says that all things were made by Him and for Him, and without Him was nothing made. Hebrews 11:3 talks about faith. It says, By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."

Faith is the spiritual substance that, when mixed with the word of God and the power of God, manifests in the natural realm as things that appear. That is how man was created on the earth. God spoke His word. He spoke man into existence in the spiritual realm, and His words mixed with faith manifested man in the natural realm. People are a mixture of spirit (who they really are) and a body (where the spirit resides), and they have a soul, which houses the mind, will, and emotions.

    Spiritual Becomes Natural

John 1:14 says, And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. To try to grasp an understanding of what this says, picture the words that you speak, and put them into a body that looks exactly like you. That is where the words that you speak take on a body that looks just like you. Can you see your words when you speak them? Of course not. So what are they? Your words are an expression of yourself, your thoughts, your feelings, and your attitudes. Since they are invisible, they are spiritual in nature. They do not have a physical existence, but they do exist. If you were to put them into a body and give that body life, then you would be doing exactly what God did to create man.

Genesis 1:27 states "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Where did God create them? Genesis 2:7 says, And the LORD God formed man of
