    In the New Testament, we’re joined to the Lord as one spirit (1Corinthians 6:17). Our spirit is God’s lamp that brings direction to our whole being (Proverbs 20:27). God’s counsel or guidance is in our spirit because that’s the seat of His Holy Spirit (Job 32:8; Proverbs 20:5). We’re led or guided on the inside, not from the outside. Instead of seeking guidance from our brain and others, we must learn to follow our spirit that is now joined to God’s Holy Spirit and is made smart by Him.

      CHAPTER 1: BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT AND THE WORD

      For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God (Romans 8:14-16).

      Those who are led, guided or directed by the Spirit of God are the children of God. Divine guidance is very vital in human destiny. Since the believer is a spiritual being, he would need to be spiritually led to fulfil his divine destiny in life. God leads in many ways but primarily through the Spirit and the Word. Saint Irenaeus was right when he said that the two hands of God the Father are the Holy Spirit and the Word.
