About this ebook

This book False Doctrine Revealed and Corrected was written as a result of many various beliefs and traditions taught and practiced. It was when Mr. Hill began a conscious effort to study the Bible that he noticed and realized there were certain discrepancies in what was taught from his youth and what the Bible was saying. He had to ask the question, What am I to believe--what I was taught from my youth or what the Bible teaches me itself? The decision to choose the Bible was easy. It's through many years of biblical research and study of how the Bible interprets itself that all the pieces fit like pieces to a puzzle. It was through this process that he realized that some of the traditions and beliefs that many practice are not biblically sound and some that are practiced are not biblical at all. It was by revealing these untruths that inspired this book False Doctrine Revealed and Corrected to be written.

You are highly encouraged to research the Bible for yourself of what's written in this book. The Bible confirms itself. However, it's important that you don't read into it with preconceived beliefs but to be open-minded and let it read what it says to you. If nothing else, and more importantly, you will increase in your learning and understanding of the Bible. All praise and glory to God.

    About the Author

To the loving memory of my father, Deacon Lloyd Hill Sr.; my mother, Mrs. Jonnie B. Hill; and my brother, Mr. Lloyd Hill Jr.

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men. (Isaiah 29:13)

    Introduction

There have been many doctrines and teachings of events in the Bible that many accept as being true. One of the problems is that many are set in their belief, often never checking the validity of what's been taught. Therefore, what they've been taught, they also believe and pass such false doctrine or teaching to others. This was actually prophesied in Isaiah 29:13:

Wherefore the Lord said, Foreasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.

The purpose of this book is to uncover the truth of some of the doctrines and teachings that have been taught. This book may be controversial to some and an eye-opener to others. But there will be some prominent, well-known preachers and teachers who will reject and denounce the findings in this book due to their committed teachings of their version of the doctrines examined in this book. However, the bottom line is the Bible speaks for itself. The information used in researching this book was primarily solely on scripture itself. Let's begin.

    Chapter 1

    Cain and Abel: The Offering

Often in many churches the subject of the offerings of Cain and Abel center around tithing and the giving of the firstfruits. Much is mentioned about why God rejected Cain's offering but accepted Abel's—often centering on the fact that Abel gave of the firstlings of his offering and Cain did not. However, scripture doesn't say whether Cain's offering was the first or last. It merely states he gave an offering. But the bigger question is how can Cain be guilty of not giving the firstlings (commonly referred to as firstfruits) when the giving of the firstfruits had not been established? The giving of the firstfruits wasn't established until 2,500 years later during the time of Moses. In Exodus 22:29, Moses wrote,

Thou shalt delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto Me.

And in Exodus 23:19, Moses writes,

The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

God being a just God cannot judge Cain unjustly. The answer to why God rejected Cain's offering can be found in Genesis 3:17. It reads,

And unto Adam He said, Because thou hast heartened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.

And again in Genesis 5:29, it also speaks of the ground being cursed by God.
