Hush: "Jesus Is Speaking"
()
About this ebook
The title is Hush, Jesus Is Speaking. The word hush means to shut up or be quiet. In this book, I found peace in being quiet and listening to what the Lord has to say to me. It is so interesting how you can read a scripture today and receive a word from the Lord, and next week, you can read that same scripture and get something different. The scripture didn't change; the Lord just gave you what you needed for that day from that scripture. That's what's so interesting about our God. In this book, I talk about having a better relationship with God, putting him first in your life, how to get your prayers answered, being committed to the Lord, and listening to his direction for your lives. He has a purpose for our lives. Let's walk in it with him leading the way. Thank you for purchasing this book to help you grow in Christ Jesus.

Hush - Erma J. Randle
My Prayer to God
Lord, I draw close to you today and every day and grateful that you will draw close to me as you promised in your word. I long to dwell in your presence, and my desire is for a deeper and more intimate relationship with you. I want to know you in every way possible. Teach me what I need to learn in order to serve you more effectively. Teach me that I might teach others about who you are and how much you love us, protect us, provide for us, lead, and guide us when we get lost on our path. You are near to all who call upon your name; some people don’t know that because they don’t know you.
I am open to whatever you want to do in and through me, Lord; speak to me for I am listening. I declare this day that you are my healer, and I am asking for healing for what you allowed to happen on my journey in the year 2019. Let me learn the lessons from it and be a blessing to someone as to what great power you have. You are my deliverer because you delivered me from death in 2019; the doctor said I could die any minute. but that’s not what God said. He still has a plan for my life, even though I will be eighty-two on August 31, 2020. You are never too old for God to use you. Our latter days cannot help but be greater than our former days, not because of anything in us, but because the glory of God rains upon and touches every area in us and every part of our lives. And because we serve a God that promises us greater latter days than our former days, we can’t help but finish well. Then his flesh is refreshed like a child’s, and he returns to the days of his youth
(Job 33:25).
Lord, help me to set aside time each day to meet with you alone. Enable me to resist and eliminate all that would hinder me from doing that. Holy Spirit, give me the right words to pray. You said, If anyone thirst, let him come to Me and drink.
I come each day to drink because I thirst for you.
Not only do I know that you are everywhere, but also I know that there are deeper manifestations of your presence that I long to experience.
Being in your presence is so refreshing, rewarding, assuring, and gratifying. It makes me know just how much I miss when I don’t come and sit with you and listen to all the things you have to say. You always have all the answers to all my questions, the solution to every problem, hope and joy for tomorrow. That’s my prayer, and I know you are going to work it all out according to your perfect will. It’s in your Son Jesus’s name I pray, amen.
Jesus Speaking to Me
Ilove talking to God when I take my bath. I put my head back, and it seems as though he waits until I am comfortable, and he starts to talk to me. He was talking to me about my family. My father died when I was five years old and my granny (Mama) when I was eight. I grew up as a normal person, but there was always a void inside of me, a sense of not belonging, being left out, or less than. My mother was there, but she was so busy raising her brothers and sisters and her own two girls. I think all of that was a burden for her, but she did it well. She probably didn’t love herself. I can understand that today because she never had any time for herself. She never told us that she loved us; she probably just struggled to make it through the day. So, at sixteen, I met a boy at school, Charles Holmes Jr. We spent time together and thought that was love; of course, it wasn’t. We were too young to even know what love was. At eighteen, we got married, and I had my first child. Looking for love in the wrong place, I only became a mother. I made many mistakes over and over still looking for love. As I said before, I knew God but didn’t have a relationship with him, so I didn’t seek his love but instead looked for it in all the wrong places. Finally, Jesus found me and saved me, and I begin to seek and love him. He already loved me; I just didn’t know it.
My family doesn’t understand me and never will because they have always had what I never had (love). I have worn a mask with them so long, but in writing these books, God has spoken to me and told me, You are special in my sight, loving, compassionate, considerate, understanding, smart, and more than ‘anything.’ You are my child, and I love you. That’s all that matters.
My daughter told me once, Mama, you look so unhappy.
All I could do was hold back the tears because I wanted to tell her, If you only knew.
I tell my family all the time I love them. I never wanted them to feel what I felt for years. Jesus has taught me through this process, and I am so refreshed and restored to know who I belong to, no matter what anyone has said or done to hurt me. Keep speaking to me, Lord, that I will not compromise you for anyone no matter what the cost may be. Keep working on me that I will always be the person you created me to be. Thank you for your wisdom and understanding. Forgive me for the times I didn’t represent you properly. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray, amen.
Hush, Jesus Is Speaking
The word hush
is a verb that means to make someone be quiet or stop speaking. The noun means a silence. Have you ever been talking to someone and really trying to get a point across to them and they are trying to talk at the same time? That can be frustrating because neither person understands what is being said; two people can’t talk at the same time. Someone has to be quiet and listen to the other.
When we go to God in prayer, we can’t just talk and talk and never listen to what he has to say to us. Yes, he said let your request be known to him, but when are we going to be quiet long enough for him to tell us what he wants us to know?
Some people find it hard to be alone and quiet in the presence of the Lord. They can find so many other things to do. Some people don’t even feel like they need the Lord. They have good health, a wonderful home, a car, money in the bank, a good job, and a family that get together and go on vacation. They feel like that’s all they need. That’s not true. God is the one who allowed you to have all those things, and they can be taken away at any moment. Sometimes, something drastic has to happen in our lives for us to see that we need someone powerful and strong to help us in times of trouble; that someone is Jesus. Some of us have to awaken to realize we need a savior, and it’s never too late to call on his name. If you ask Jesus to come into your life, which really is his life that he loaned and trusted you with, to take control, to lead and guide you, he will change everything about you. He will change the way you think; he will give you peace in the midst of sorrow and hope for tomorrow. He will work out all your trials if you will trust him. He will let you do things you never thought you would do; like me, I never thought I would write a book. This is the second book; only God made it possible. I am so grateful for what he put inside of me, and I didn’t know it. He’s that kind of God, full of surprises. You pray; then you listen. He doesn’t always answer the same hour, day, or sometimes years. It’s been four years since I wrote the first book, but I kept on praying and waiting, and now is the time for the book to come forth. It’s all in his timing. God has no special person; what he has done for me, he can do for you. Maybe it’s not to write a book; maybe it’s for you to sing a song or preach a message. Whatever it is, he will show you how to accomplish it with great strength and power. Then you will rejoice in the Lord just as I am doing today, after having my second book published. I am looking forward to seeing what’s in store for me as long as I continue to be faithful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now, I am at the point that I want to know just what he has stored inside of me that I haven’t tapped into, what’s sitting there waiting to come forth that I haven’t taken the time and effort to seek all my potential. Potential is having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future. On February 11, 2016, God took me on a journey, and he had me write about it in the first book. On that journey, he brought up all the stuff I had buried, which freed me of the past pains, disappointments, struggles, and the feeling of not being loved and not being worthy. Take the time to ask God what he has stored inside of you, screaming to get out and be used by him. When he speaks, you obey, don’t talk back, and just do it; and you will be fulfilled.
God spoke all through the Bible, and he’s still speaking today. He never changes.
God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, ‘What’s wrong Hagar? Don’t be afraid, for God has heard the boy crying from the place where he is’
(Genesis 21:17). You see, God sees us just where we are in the following verse, which is Genesis 21:18: Get up, help the boy up, and grasp his hand for I will make him a great nation.
He can take nothing and make something. He can turn tears into joy and success. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, ‘Abraham, Abraham!’ He replied, ‘Here am I’
(Genesis 22:11).
Then the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven.
—Genesis 22:15
Then the Lord told Moses, This is what you are to say to the Israelites: you have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.
—Exodus 20:22
He let you hear his voice from heaven to instruct you. He showed you his great fire on earth, and you heard his words from the fire.
—Deuteronomy 4:36
From heaven You promised judgment: The earth feared and grew quiet.
—Psalm 76:8
While the words were still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven.
King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared that the kingdom has departed from you.
—Daniel 4:31
And a voice came from heaven, You are My beloved Son, with You I am well pleased.
—Mark 1:11
And the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a physical appearance like a dove, and a voice came from heaven, "You are My beloved Son, with You I am well
