Prologue

As I sit with all of this self-talk spinning around the hamster wheel in my head, with glass of wine in hand, it is imperative and cathartic to put pen to paper so that my brain would not implode! Asking once again, why do we continue to give and give and give of ourselves and get nothing in return? I can’t be the only one that has gone through these horrors and absolutely unbelievably unbelievable stories . . . am I? Have you ever heard the saying You laugh so that you don’t cry? It’s that saying that has prompted this book. And my hope to let you all know that you’re not alone and that if one of these stories can make you laugh instead of cry, then mission accomplished.
