About this ebook

Homeopathy is an alternative, complementary, cost-effective, and very safe healing system for infants to old age. During early period of twentieth century, it was practiced parallel to the conventional (allopathic) system. It is widely practiced in Germany, United Kingdom, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The classical books on homeopathy, published before the 1900s, describe often in obsolete medical terms, the theory, philosophy, and symptoms of provings (drug testing). They are deficient in application methods to find the correct homeopathic remedy easily. They have little reference to pathological changes in tissues. In practice, different patients express their symptoms in different words even though suffering from same disease. It is often difficult to find the correct homeopathic remedy based on the patient’s symptoms alone. K. Robinson, MD, a contemporary expert, wrote in an editorial The Cutting Edge, “I suppose, the overwhelming drive in the practice of homeopathy is toward precision in prescribing. Because the accurate prescribing is so difficult, we find ourselves studying constantly, and yet we never feel complete” (J. A. I. H, vol. 79, no. 1, March 1986). This book, Homeopathy in Practice: Clinical Insights into Homeopathy and Remedies, offers the practical aspects and clinical keynotes on remedies related to various illnesses, backed by successful reports from journals, books, personal discussions, and experiences of others. This book will help find the correct remedy easily. Just refer to the relevant heading in the contents. Go to the associate page(s) and glance through the keynotes of remedies. You will often spot the correct homeopathic remedy.

    Preface

Important note, I am quoting a relevant part of a letter I received on May 17, 2019, from Deborah Dupnik, CAE, CCSME-A, executive director at National Center for Homeopathy:

According to the Homeopathic Research Institute, over 200 million people use homeopathy on regular basis worldwide every year. That is lot of people making homeopathy their healthcare choice for the benefit of themselves and their families. The common fact among these people is that they have already tried everything that conventional medicine has to offer, yet they continue to suffer from their chronic illnesses. Homeopathy is an effective, safe and affordable healthcare option. We believe that it must continue to remain accessible for our benefit. The World Health Organization, states that homeopathy is the fastest growing, and second most used medicine system in the world. The NCH is working diligently to spread the awareness and education of more and more people about homeopathy, in collaboration with other homeopathic organizations, such as the Homeopathic Action Alliance, Homeopathy Advocacy Group and Americans for Homeopathy Choice for their on-going efforts at the Capitol Hill to ensure homeopathic remedies are available to all of us to benefit our health from their use.

It is extremely important for all the readers of this volume 3, to read the whole preface of volume 1 of my book titled Homeopathy in Practice, Clinical Insights into Homeopathy and Remedies. I have described in details about my understanding of the working principle of homeopathy and how to apply it in various ways to achieve the desired healing objectives. My book series consists of five volumes. I am also humbling requesting you to send me your comments and suggestions for improving future editions. I will acknowledge the names along with the suggestions that I will use to improve the future editions.

Supplementary Notes: Homeopathic remedies contain form of energy/information similar to computer software. A selected remedy informs the area of the brain related to the disorder, which, in turn, triggers or enhances the healing response through the immune system. Homeopathy is destined to become tomorrow’s mainstream medicine. The homeopathic remedies are analogous to the computer software. They send signals to the mind and enhances the awareness about the presence of disease in the body. It results in a little more nudge to the immune system, which is just enough to bring about the self-healing / natural healing. The homeopathic remedies compliment the conventional treatments protocols. They help reduce side effects of drugs and achieve faster recovery with better well-being of patients! Homeopathy is a prime candidate for further research in our modern digital age as there are more sophisticated equipment available to assess the therapeutic benefits of homeopathy. The medical researchers are appealed to review the latest findings that pure water remembers the properties of any substance that was dissolved or just placed into it for a while and then taken out. The latest research has confirmed that water retains the fingerprints of the substance that was dissolved in it, and the solution was diluted beyond the point where not a single particle of the dissolved substance remained in it. The property of memory of water was manifested by the peculiar formations, arrangements, clusters, or patterns of its molecules. It is an astonishing new scientific discovery! Please watch the documentaries on the Mystery of Water Memory available on the YouTube channel. You will be amazed!

Homeopathic system of healing is a prime candidate for in-depth research, using the modern medical methods and equipment to measure the healing energies, signals, or vibrations contained in the homeopathic remedies, which provide the therapeutic benefits. I am humbly appealing to the highly developed scientific institutions, such as the National Academy of Sciences, Scientific American Society, National Geographic Society, WHO, NASA, NIH, NIMH, MERMER, DARPA, AARP, etc. to probe into the therapeutic potentials of homeopathy. Please provide support for further research to upgrade it to the modern medical standards. The collective efforts by the institutions will make homeopathy easy to learn and apply for holistic healing on all levels. For information on the type of new equipment, being developed to measure the thoughts, please read the book Mind Wars by Jonathan D. Moreno.

Important Notes: First, to reduce the number of pages of this book, the names of remedies under various headings of disorders are listed in their standard abbreviations forms, according to the abbreviations used in Dr. Kent’s Repertory of Homeopathic Materia Medica—a reference work mostly used by homeopathic practitioners worldwide. For example, AM-C. is an abbreviation of ammonium carbonicum; ARN. of arnica montana; BERB. of berberis vulgaris; SYMPH. of symphtum officinale, and so on. The students who are not familiar with the abbreviations can look at the end of this book for the table of remedies abbreviations and full names.

Second, the range of potencies (energy strengths) of remedies is only suggestive according to their most common use in the practice. The common range is from Ø or Φ, 6C–200C. It means to use a selected remedy in Φ or Ø (mother tincture), 6C, 12C, 30C, or 200C potency, according to the nature of disease, acute or chronic, and intensity of symptoms. The experienced practitioners may decide to select a potency outside the suggested range according to their experiences.

Third, another feature kept secret by most practitioners, to avoid the allegations of going outside Hahnemann’s teachings, is the use of two or three remedies in alternation, or in combination, that seem closely indicated in a given case. According to my observations, closely similar remedies should not be used in alternation, or one after the other, as they antidote each other according to the principle of homeopathy. However, two or three similar remedies may be used with advantage because of their synergetic therapeutic action! For example, a combo of ACON 200C and RHUS-T 200C often provides satisfactory pain relief. It seems to be a better and much safer substitute for the conventional pain-relieving drugs. I have included such combos under various chapters backed by clinical reports of well-experienced practitioners.

    MIND DISORDERS

(Absence of mind, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, attention disorders, autism, comprehension difficulties, memory disorders, habit disorder, mood disorder, thought disorders, mental depression, delusions, insanity, etc. Note, the nerve cells, epidermis, and epithelium of nasal cavity develop from the same outer layer of cells in the developing embryo—the ectoderm. Keep it in mind that an individual with tendency to develop allergic reaction on skin or respiratory tract is also prone to mental/emotional disorders by signals coming from environment or life’s circumstances. The remedies found useful for allergies also have potential of usefulness for the mental/emotional disorders). Note, homeopathic treatment by licensed practitioners should always be carried out in consultation with the conventionally trained psychiatrist or neurologist for proper evaluation of the result of homeopathic treatments.

Case: A boy was locked up in his class in school by mistake. Soon after this frightful experience, he developed fits of epilepsy. Weekly doses of CUPR. 200C cured him of epilepsy in six weeks.(102, p. 260)

CYPR. Φ–3X: It relaxes the mind as well as the body. It also helps overcome insomnia. It has been used mostly in Φ to 3X potencies.(38, vol. 2, p. 196) Try it in 6C and higher potencies that may provide better results.(67) (See under Muscle Relaxant Remedies for details.)

STRAM. 30C–10M: It is indicated for spasms in muscle or even seizures after experiencing a frightful event or even watching a horror movie. Case 1: A woman had been suffering from episodes of seizures for years since the death of two of her children. Her seizure would start with cutting pains in her knees, followed by flushes of heat and palpitations. She would bite her tongue, kick, spit, fall down, and speak in a foreign tongue during the attacks. Any loud noise would trigger the attack, especially the crying of children. Her face appeared like a mask of fear. She made no eye contact and spoke in monosyllables. When she was asked about the death of her children, the seizure started. ACON. 30C relieved the acute attacks. In such cases, if ACON. 200C is given early enough, it can avert the seizure. The deeply buried emotional trauma was removed from STRAM. 200C, one dose a week given for six weeks.(62, Feb. 2009, pp. 28, 34) It is a great remedy to relieve the post-traumatic stress disorder. It eradicates the influence of past traumas, such as night terrors, stammering, and fear of dark. Case 2: A man witnessed the 9/11 terrorist attack at a very close range. Since then, he developed extreme fear of dark, could not sleep without his wife beside him, with light on. He would become hypervigilant in public places. STRAM. 200C, one dose a week, for four weeks provided gradual but full recovery.(62, Feb. 2009, pp. 10–11)

STRAM. and ACON. 30C–200C: The latter is an excellent first aid remedy for used soon after a fright. It rapidly relieves the effects of fright or shock. When ACON. is found insufficient, deeper acting remedies such STRAM. completes the healing. Case: It has helped a newborn suffered from who the birthing trauma as the labor and delivery happened unexpectedly fast. The baby appeared distressed with fearful eyes. He would cry angrily during the day, wake up screaming at night, and would not fall asleep again. He was relieved a little bit when carried. There were no signs of any pathology. STRAM 30C, two doses, provided full recovery.(62, Aug. 2008, p. 12)

    Ailments from Grief or Loss

(Loss of Goals, Domestic Conflicts, Disappointment, or Unfulfilled Love)

(See also under Depression of Mind)

AGAR. 6C–200C: It improves mental faculties. (See under Mental Depression for details.)

ARN. 6C–200C: Clinically, it was revealed that it heals not only effects of trauma but also mental depression. (8; 67; 72) (See under Depression of Mind for more info.)

ARS. 200C–10M: It is indicated for a person who had suffered from grief, disappointment in love, failure in achieving a goal or ambition in life, and now manifesting great mental restlessness, driving her from place to place, anxiety about salvation, despair of recovery, or delusion of being doomed.(86, p. 283) Dr. S. R. Phatak reported that ARS. 1M had helped a difficult case of MS—a deep neurological condition. He prescribed it on symptom of weakness in lower limbs, worse from getting angry. This basis to justify his selection of ARS. is not correct as the anger increases the strength of muscles. Dr. Phatak seems to have become very fond of ARS. after achieving great successes with its use in variety of illnesses. When he saw the case of MS, he was naturally led to use ARS. as his first prescription, which fortunately helped this case. So ARS. seems to be a clinical remedy for MS.(67) Case 1: A woman, twenty-four, developed multiple sclerosis. Initially, she noticed that her sandals were coming off her feet during walking. Later, she felt weakness in her legs and loss of control over urinary bladder. Dr. Sankaran had tried CARC. 1M, TUB. 1M, ARN. 200C, RHUS-T. 1M, and SYPH. 1M without benefit. Later, he discussed this case with Dr. Phatak who suggested ARS. 1M. It was given two times daily for one week, which provided great improvement. It was followed by one dose of ARS. 10M, which completed the recovery. Case 2: A doctor, fifty, had two attacks of gastritis with vomiting at two months apart following a disappointment from not being promoted in his job in spite of his hard work. ARS. 30C, one dose, two times daily for two weeks with relief in his gastritis permanently.(106a, pp. 18–20)

AUR. 200C–10M: It removes guilt feeling in firefighters who enter blazing buildings or dive into flooding waters to rescue all but if they fail to rescue some victims.(62, Autumn 2011, p. 19)

CALC-P. 30C–200C: It removes bad effects of unresolved grief or indignation. The suppressed emotions lead to dissatisfaction with the self rather than with others. It is manifested by moaning in sleep, great irritability, anger, and swearing similar to NUX-V. This kind of mental state is often mistaken for STAPH., but a patient needing it generally appears mild and sweet. He only burst into rage when a situation reaches beyond his tolerance.(50, pp. 1400–1403)

CAUST. 30C–200C: It is indicated for people who feel grief and disappointment from seeing strong injustice done to others. You often hear them saying, It’s not fair. (62, Autumn 2011, p. 21)

COCC. 30C–200C: It removes mental dullness from night watching or prolonged nursing a loved one, which naturally involves great worry and grief. The old Dr. Dunham said that it affects the voluntary muscles first and then the mind.(32, pp. 170–173) It is indicated for the effects of grief and prolonged nursing a loved one, especially when accompanied by dullness of mind, headache, vertigo, great physical weakness, and trembling.(62, Autumn 2011, p. 18) (See under Neurasthenia for more info.)

GELS. 30C–10M: It has remarkable potential to improve mental and physical faculties to very high levels. It energizes and unifies the functions of mind and body. It pumps life back in lifeless persons.(8; 67) (See under Alzheimer’s Dis.; Clairvoyance Faculty; Fears; Vol. 4, under Neurasthenia, for details.)

IGN. 30C–10M: It’s a wonderful remedy to sooth the acute sufferings of emotional shock, grief, or loss. It is indicated by symptoms of uncontrollable weeping, sobbing, sighing, anger at trifles, changeable moods, muscle spasms, tics, and twitching. Case: A boy, eleven years old, complained of recurring pain in his foot as if it were dislocated. During the pain, he became overly angry, sarcastic, rude, and sobbed involuntarily. The X-ray of his foot did not show any abnormality. He received few doses of IGN. 200C. He started feeling relief in his pain soon after the first dose, and gradually, the pain disappeared completely.(62, Aug. 2006 p. 18) IGN. 10M can be repeated frequently with no untoward effects in persons suffering from the shock of death of loved ones or in hysterical subjects to help them go through the emotionally trying times. It is a clinical pearl given by Catherine R. Coulter in her book Portraits of Homeopathic Medicine which has been confirmed by clinical observations by Dr. K. Robinson.(1, vol. 8, Dec. 1988, p. 150) It is an excellent remedy for grief, disappointment, and for disturbed body functions. It is also indicated for children who appear emotionally disturbed seriously from living in a conflicting environment (e.g., constant fights between parents). Case: A young girl studied very hard for final exams to achieve highest grades in her class, but she missed her goals. Since then, she felt voraciously hungry, grabbed something to eat, but then didn’t feel like eating. Later, it was discovered that it was not a true hunger but only a feeling of emptiness in her stomach. IGN. 10M, one dose, rapidly relieved her of false hunger or emptiness in stomach. (81, pp. 264–266)

IGN., AMBR., and SIL. 30C–10M: The acute effects of grief are rapidly removed by few doses of IGN. 30 or 200C. However, when the grief has affected deeper layers of mind, and has become chronic, then select AMBR., NAT-M. or SIL. according to the similarity of the characteristic symptoms in a case. (97, pp. 57, 393) (See also under Depression of Mind for more info.)

IGN., NAT-M., and AUR. 30C–10M: These remedies have been found helpful in relieving the grief and post-traumatic stress disorder. IGN. is useful for acute effects of grief and NAT-M. for chronic. In one case of PTSD in which IGN. had failed but NAT-M. cured the case. AUR. is useful for very deep grief with suicidal tendencies. (62, Autumn 2011, p. 21; Aug. 2006, p. 294)

LACH. 200C–10M: It is one of the best remedies for disturbed mental state caused by disappoint in love affair or experiencing deep jealousy. Case: A young married woman with one child fell in love with another man six months ago. Every time she tried to express her love to that man, she would bite her tongue very hard involuntarily. She developed a constant burning sensation in her tongue. She had even considered to divorce her present husband to marry that man but could not do so because of her child’s sake. One dose of LACH. 1M provided complete relief. (81, p. 265) It is a hint that a remedy having a strong affinity to a certain organ also has the potential to cure any disease affecting that organ, irrespective of etiology.(67)

MEZ. 30C–10M: It help the body to get rid of exo- and endotoxins. The cleaner blood promotes mental faculties, gives a sense of inner calm, and helps improve the self-confidence.(73)

NAT-M. 6X–10M: It is a wonderful remedy for ill effects of grief or disappointment. The patient looks sad, silent, resentful with a desire to be alone. Case: A cat was resentful and sad when a new kitten got all the attention by the owner. She exiled herself to the porch and refused all foods and drinks. NAT-M 6X dissolved in water healed it.(62, Feb. 2008, p. 16) It is useful for chronic grief. It is indicated for chronic grief with extreme thirst, nervousness, hurriedness, and awkwardness. She dwells on the unpleasant memories and weeps when alone. The chronic state of grief leads to fatigue, empty feeling in chest or abdomen, sighing, anorexia or bulimia, and sensation of lump in the throat. She feels worse by consolation.(46; 73) It is indicated for chronic state of grief. She cannot express her sadness to others and weeps only when she is alone. At times, she also manifests alternate states of weeping and laughing. Case: A woman suffered from a great shock when her child suffering from an illness died right in her lap. She was stunned so much from this shock that she couldn’t even weep after her child’s death. After few days, she started showing insane behavior. All of a sudden, she would laugh and weep alternately or would clap her hands and sing some songs. She was given ECT with improvement. Three years later, she gave birth to another child who resembled exactly like her previous child. The resemblance triggered the memory of her unresolved grief, and her previous insanity relapsed. Based on the past history of shock, weeping and laughing alternately, NAT-M. 1M, one dose, once a week, total of three doses, healed her condition completely.(81, pp. 264–265)

PAR. 30C–10M: It is indicated for ailments from grief, scorn or humiliations, shattering the entire ego of a person. Some examples of symptoms that may follow emotional shock are loquacious mania, talking too much rudely and foolishly about unimportant things, jumping from one subject to the other merely for the sake of talking with the intention to make fun and insult others. The affected person complains of disordered sense of touch, such as the surface of objects feels rougher than they actually are, pain as if all the joints were broken, swollen, or dislocated. Case: A woman, forty-five, lost a grown-up son one year ago. She was shocked so much that she could not weep. Since then, she became mentally dull and morose and ceased to menstruate without any sign of uterine pathology. Whenever she was contradicted or thought of her dead son, which happened every three or four days, she became extremely loquacious, dizzy, severe headache, and felt as if a ball were lodged in her throat. When she was telling about this condition, her eyes appeared as if protruding from sockets and wandered here and there. She was given IGN. 30C and 200C, which failed. Then she was given PAR. 30C, and on the third day, she reported feeling quite well. The remedy was stopped, and she remained well since then.(73)

PHOS. 6C–200C: It relieves splitting headache following a grief.(73, pp. 776, 779) It is indicated for a condition of grief, which settles down to the deepest level in the psyche, making an affected person totally worn down, indifferent with tendency to greying or loss of hair.(62, Autumn 2011, p. 21)

PHYS. 30C–200C: Dr. Knerr praised it highly to treat paralysis of mind and body from grief. The sadness is buried deep within the subconscious mind like a shadow. In such cases, it takes a very long time to achieve complete cure with the indicated remedy.(1, Spring, 2004, vol. 97, p. 18)

PLAT. 30C–10M: It is more suitable for persons with arrogance, superiority complex, or overly proud of their status or intelligence. When they are forced to be in a situation below their self-image—such as marrying someone below in status, education, or intelligence—they are prone to develop functional or pathological disorders. Case: A proud woman suffered from humiliation, and since then, she had been feeling as if she would start her menses any moment. She also felt constriction in her body as if bandaged by a tight band. A dose of PLAT. 200C healed her.(81, p. 178)

SEP. 30C–10M: It is complementary to IGN. and NUX-V. for effects of grief, anger, fright, or disappointed love. SEP. combines the depression of IGN. and irritability of NUX-V.(106a, p. 128)

TELA. Φ–3X: It is prepared from cobweb of black spider. In the provers, it produced the most delicious tranquility and increase in the energy of muscles and no bad effects followed its use.(73) Vow! It seems to be an ideal antidepressant, tranquillizer, and energizer.(67) (See also under Depression of Mind for details.)

    Ailments from Homesickness

CAPS. 200C–10M: It relieves the homesickness. Dr. Tyler would give CAPS. 10M, one dose, to children who were crying and screaming right after being admitted to a hospital. She found them playing normally shortly after taking a dose.(81, p. 266)

    Alzheimer’s Disease

(A chronic, progressive, degenerative cognitive disorder found most commonly occurs in people over sixty-five. It seems to be a defect in the metabolism of alpha-amyloid precursor protein. There is marked cerebral atrophy with deposits of plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. Acetylcholine may be reduced by 75 percent, resulting in cognitive impairment. In advance stages, seizures, hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia may occur). (See also under Old-Age Problems.)

ABSIN. 6C–200C: It is a promising remedy to minimize the sufferings of Alzheimer’s disease. It relieves the agitation and insomnia.(30, pp. 243, 420) It seems promising to dissipate the neurofibrillary tangles in the brain. In the past, it had been used successfully to relieve epileptic seizures. It seems to be a muscle relaxant similar to the drug Valium.(67) (Cf. ARS., ART-V., CINA and CHAM.)

AETH. Φ–200C: Dr. Guernsey had highly praised it as "one of the best remedies for mental disorders. It is not as well-known as it should be." (See under Attention Deficit Disorder for details.)

AGAR. 3X–200C: It builds up the brain tissues and relieves mental disorders, such as delirium, dementia, making prophesies in verses, silly merriness, incoherent talks, kissing companions, and feeling of grandeur. Muscle jerking or twitching are added confirmation for the selection of AGAR. for Alzheimer’s disease.(73; 138, vol. 2, pp. 341–349) It seems that AGAR. enhances the functional strength of neurotransmitters, acetylcholine, epinephrine, substance P, dopamine, serotonin, etc.(67) (See also under Nervous Syst. Dis…Parkinson’s Disease for more info.)

ALUM. 30C–200C: It seems to be a great remedy for symptoms Alzheimer’s disease, such as confusion of mind, slow perceptions, slow passage or retention of urine, constipation due to the weak sensory nerves in colon and rectum resulting in weak peristalsis. ALUM. is also useful in Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and paraplegia.(3, Course-1, CD-6) Try it in cases when other indicated remedies have failed.(32) (See also under Post-Stroke Paralysis for more info.)

AMBR. 30C–200C: It is a promising antiaging remedy. It should also prove useful in Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. It seems to enhance the functional activities of neurotransmitters, acetylcholine, dopamine, serotonin, and adrenalin.(67) It is indicated for premature old age, decline in mind, emotions, and physical faculties. A man age of fifty years may look like a man of eighty years. AMBR. 30C and up is useful for trembling of limbs, lips, jaws, and a peculiar feebleness of mind that is best described by the word of senility. The hands tremble during an activity and legs totter when walking, aka locomotor ataxia. The mind becomes foggy, and forgetful. During a conversation, the patient rapidly changes the topic from one subject to another and asks question after question without waiting for an answer. When he intends to do something, the idea is whisked away / vanished. After struggling for a few times, the idea comes back. Although the mind becomes slow, but he is compelled to dwell upon the most disagreeable events and imaginations, keeping him awake all night, similar to NAT-M. Another characteristic indication of AMBR. is the feeling of great embarrassment in the presence of other persons. AMBR. is useful for a perfect picture of nervous breakdown. Such state can also be caused by series of deaths of loved ones within a short period, making him to feel that life is not worth living anymore. AMBR. rapidly removes such kind of depression. It is also useful in bipolar states—great excitability followed by depression with total indifference to every event and joy in life. The arms go to sleep easily during rest. AMBR. has cured the trembling in middle-aged persons. It also helps in variety of old-age disorders, such as dry skin, emaciation, constipation, asthma and gagging cough, and sensation of strong pulsation of blood flow in the arteries, probably from atherosclerosis.(76, p. 66–72) It is indicted for persons who feel embarrassed or uncomfortable if another person, especially a stranger is close by, can’t pass urine or stool in their presence. They appear dreamy, forgetful, during conversation jumps from one topic to another, and feel great dullness or sluggishness in their minds (e.g., need to read a line or a paragraph 3–4 times to grasp the meaning fully). (22, p. 17) It is a wonderful remedy to heal nervous breakdown. The redline indication is the excessive bashfulness and great nervousness among the strangers, such as she cannot pass urine or stool or starts coughing nervously. It is also useful for a peculiar insomnia of feeling strong sleepiness, but when she goes to bed, the sleepiness disappears and she could not fall asleep.(102, p. 31–32) It acts prominently and increases functional strength of neurons. It suits better to elderly people who are of spare built, very nervous, and forgetful of simple facts. They feel vertigo on any motion of head, walk with unbalanced steps and feel numbness in limbs. If the healing response to an indicated remedy is deficient due to weak nerves, it also improves it.(30, p. 151) When the healing response is obstructed by influence of psoric miasm, use intercurrent dose of either PSOR. 200C, for chilly people, or SULPH. 200C, for hot-blooded.(67) (See under Parkinson’s Disease for more info.)

ANAC. 30C–10M: It is one of the best remedies to improve memory, especially in persons who manifest a mixture of inferiority complex, worthlessness, and cruelty to others at the same time. They are pulled in two opposite extremes at the same time as if by an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other.(120) Try ANAC. 30C, one dose, twice daily, to start the treatment of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, especially when the history reveals some of the characteristics in the personality of this remedy. When there are signs of improvement, increase the potency and dose intervals until desired results.(67) (See under Memory Dis. for details.)

ARAG. 30C–200C: It is prepared from a family of weedy plant. The consumption of crude weed produce strongly intoxication or bewildered state of the mind. Study it and consider it for the treatment of insanity and Alzheimer’s disease.(8; 40; 67)

ARG-N. 30C–200C: It is indicated for advanced deterioration of mind, manifested by gross forgetfulness, maliciousness, contradictoriness, suspiciousness, dislike to being left alone, and tendency to hoard things. The patient does not feel hungry and starves and, therefore, becomes severely emaciated.(45, p. 48) Try it in cases of Alzheimer’s disease in such patients.(67)

ARN. 30C–200C: It is a proven remedy to neutralize the ill effects of trauma. Everyone experiences physical and emotional trauma in life. Therefore, it is justified to use intercurrent doses of ARN. 200C along with other indicated remedies in cases of Alzheimer’s disease. The intercurrent doses will give faster results.(67) (See under Depression of Mind for more info.)

BAPT. 30C–200C: It has been used successfully in the past in those bacterial and viral diseases, which affected the mind, such as mental confusion, delirium, strange behavior, delusion of shattered personality, or as if their bodies were broken into pieces. They toss and turn in bed as if trying to get the pieces together.(72b, p. 76) BAPT. 200C along with CARB-V. 200C have the potential to expel the remnant toxins from the body from previous diseases, such as influenza, scarlet fever, etc. Incorporate them in the protocol for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.(67)

BAR-C. 200C–10M: It is a great remedy to minimize physical and mental disorders of old age, such as degeneration of tissues. It is particularly useful to reduce damage to the brain, stop or slow down brain decay and memory decline.(3, Course-1, CD-6)

BAR-C., BAR-M., and CON. 200C–10M: These remedies are most frequently indicated remedies for old-age disorders. BAR-C. is especially suitable for persons with mental dullness, forgetfulness, and childish behavior. BAR-M. is similar to all the symptoms of BAR-C., except signs of mania or psychotic behavior. CON. is indicated for slowly progressing induration of mind, loss of emotions, superstitions, and premalignant or actual malignant conditions.(45, p. 47; 120)

BAR-M. 200C–10M: It is almost a specific remedy to slow down the deterioration and hardening of blood vessels. It improves blood circulation to the brain.(3, Course-1, CD-6) I think this remedy should be used in alternation or combination with AGAR., ALUM., AMBR., BAR-C., CALC., CALC-P., CON., FORM., JUG-C, JUG-R., KALI-C., LYC., NAT-M., PHOS., SEC. or ZINC. to provide synergistic effects for more rapid results. This idea needs clinical trials for validity.(67)

BERB-A. 3X–6X: It has a reputation for making "a new man out of an old one." It has been used by eclectics as a blood purifier for healing pimples, eczema, psoriasis, chronic catarrh, liver disorders, and signs of secondary syphilitic affections. It stimulates the function of all glands, improves nutrition, and clears the complexion.(46; 73) Try it in cases of Alzheimer’s disease.(67)

BERB. and NAT-S. 6X–30X: These detox remedies used in alternation with other indicated remedies for Alzheimer’s disease help in faster results.(67) (See under Knee Joint OA for details.)

CADM-S. 30C–10M: It has been found useful in paralysis, similar to CAUST. It is indicated for Alzheimer’s disease, especially when accompanied by gastrointestinal disorders, similar to ARS., ANT-T., BRY., and IPEC. In neurological disorders, it is similar to CUPR., PHOS., ZINC. and Tellurium.(76, pp. 271–273) (See also under Paralysis, Post-Stroke for more info.)

CALC-F., KALI-M., and SIL. 12X–200C: Several months to years before the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, the patient begins to feel difficulty in thinking, finding the right words, facts, and recall names. The patient becomes anxious, indecisive, fears poverty, and feels as if cobwebs were in the brain. CALC-F. and KALI-M. work together to dissolve calcium deposits in the arteries and reduce neurofibrillary tangles in the brain. CALC-F., KALI-M. and SIL. are complementary to each other and may be taken in alternation or in combo for a long time to minimize the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.(88, pp. 106–107)

CALC-SIL. 30C–10M: This antituberculosis remedy is similar to MANG., STANN., BAC., and TUB. in exhausted states. It is a promising remedy for Alzheimer’s disease. The early stage is manifested by deep sadness without apparent cause, misuse of words or names during conversation, and apathy to loved ones and surroundings. Kent had described the condition of one patient of Alzheimer’s disease, in these words, "She sits in a place looking into space for a long time, and does not answer when spoken to."(50, vol 6, pp. 1433–34)

CIC. 30C–10M: Consider it for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, showing agitation of mind, moaning and howling’s, violent tremors, twitching, and odd gesticulation.(32, p. 267; 73; 119, pp. 388–389) It ought to prove as a homeopathic substitute for the drug Dilantin and Valium as a tranquillizer, antispasmodic, and muscle relaxant.(67) (See under Epilepsy; Injury to Head; Skin Dis., Eczema for details.)

COCC. 30C–10M: It has been used from ancient times
