Shining Through - Wendy West Hart
Beams
I’ve heard and believe there are actual invisible beams of light that shine down on us—
unseen, loving beams of light.
They are there in the day and then, of course, at night.
They are helping beams we just can’t see.
They are there to help you and there to help me.
There are of times, yes, when we can’t help but doubt,
Is anyone really out there helping?
God is there; that’s what He’s about.
He and the heavens are helping us, of course,
more than we really know.
Although we really do not realize it,
because the beams just do not show.
They are there. I can’t see they are but feel they are.
Even though you’d think then they would be
just as bright as a star.
And when praying, up there they see them get much stronger.
So we must not deny Him of how much He does really care any longer.
Take hold and feel the Spirit’s loving presence.
Let’s not just rely on our own independence.
He needs us, and we need Him.
Those beams to the Spirit would be illuminated and bright,
but to us they are dim.
Tap into Him, and He will tap into you.
Just ask and trust, and you will know what to do.
The beams are bounced back, in connection with the Spirit.
It’s them, and their way to fix our life woes or even our pain; they can cure it.
You’re being watched over; don’t think that you’re not.
So hang on to those beams with all that you’ve got.
He transports little blessings and plants a seed in time of need.
He loves to see the relief that you feel when from your struggles you’ve been freed.
So remember that heaven for sure is there for you and watches over you indeed.
Inspiration
Inspiration in your life comes from many different avenues.
It’s important to not be choosey but to figure out the clues.
Of course, not all will be positive; but the good influences can really impact you well.
An awkward experience could actually turn out good too,
but that can sometimes be hard to tell.
Open your mind to inspire and also let new things in.
Sometimes you just have to be willing to begin.
Even going on an outing can help in some kind of way.
Your feelings can be altered just from the changes of scenery that day.
What inspires you to succeed?
What inspires you to live?
What inspires you to open your mind?
What inspires you to give?
Oh, if we all were inspired to stay
in just the right direction;
and we wouldn’t need a push from anyone or anything,
like sort of an intervention.
It would be wonderful for everything to go as planned and to have things
automatically go so well;
but sometimes, in youthful, younger years, goals and dreams are hindered from words people or parents never did say or tell.
What’s inside you and not showing through
could be windows and doors never opened to you.
Inspiring yourself just doesn’t always fly.
This is why others need to inspire too
so that your best, you really do try.
Thank God—He helps make us to see that we need each other,
and that’s what He’s always desired.
Working to help each other through life is important so we feel inspired.
So let’s all step it up a notch and give to others of ourselves again something we’ve each taken so long lately to learn.
We can’t expect the other guy to worry about it all the time; maybe it’s our turn.
A few times in my aged years, I had lived in unknown places and come across people with some strange behaviors in their life.
No one is perfect, but I can’t understand backstabbing; with an attitude of
You down him, and I’ll down her
and just simply so much strife.
Then loyalty or trust to friends or even between family really wasn’t there.
Only personal gain and to inspire or lift up each other—you see, they mostly just didn’t care.
It was hard to witness that because I grew up in a place that wasn’t like that,
that much at all.
At least, you could always find a few close relationships where there was total
trust and you would never let each other fall.
Always try to lift others and to build each other up
and give some inspiration.
Especially to our young,
to put their eyes to see a much better situation.
People need to hear positive because negative destroys.
Being a blessing in any situation can be one of life’s biggest joys.
I will tell you this much: no response at all can be much worse and can make any potential dream fall.
Yes, it can be as simple as not even saying anything
about some one’s dreams at all.
Sometimes I have gotten that, and it really hurt too.
Then in mentioning the book a second time, not a Good luck
; How great
; or Good for you.
Not a word, just dead silence from some, like I hadn’t told them at all
what I was going to do.
Though baffled so deep down, I knew it really didn’t matter and just had to believe in myself.
And I felt God would let it shine for me, and more importantly,
my book would at least end up on my son’s bookshelf.
Dreams can get crippled from silence, and if you let it, it will dry up like dust.
Inspiring one’s dreams should simply be a must.
Always let someone know that you want their absolute best
to show.
Some people can be very supportive in our lives and believe in what you can see.
Proudly, like my son, who has a very supportive attitude to all people,
but I knew that is how he would be.
We all need it and can give it, so don’t keep it in;
this world can be transformed, if we all would just begin.
There’s a beginning to everything, and inspiration should be it.
Helping no one and passing on nothing would be nothing that we’d get.
Lifting someone for a moment really can’t hurt at all.
Don’t just stand there—you have to pass the ball.
What a difference we can make, if we would encourage others
just a bit.
Let’s start and get started and never should we quit.
My husband was very good at that, when it came to his heart’s passion.
Coaching children is what it was, which he loved,
because teaching them to feel talented and important
and like they were worth his time
really was his mission.
Most successes you hear of—they had others to encourage their dreams.
Without that, what things in this world could have been so different or maybe come apart at the seams?
Success comes from back up and someone believing in one’s soul.
In all of our lives,
I believe we should encourage, yes, not only the children but anyone we can;
and that should be our number 1 goal.
Desires
I used to hear a phrase that went,
Just do what your little heart desires.
Not too many really think about what that all requires.
Sometimes some don’t get it, or really understand, that desiring too much
could leave you in sinking sand.
See, sometimes it’s ok to just want the simple things,
like just being happy waiting patiently and wanting your bus to arrive or just listening while a gentle bird sings.
It can be enough for some to just get by but a challenge to just keep going.
Just don’t stop, though, if your heart wants to try, because the strength of your desires should keep showing.
Many people say yes when asked if they would do their life over again,
but personally not me.
To do it all the same and have to go through a lot I went through,
I just do not agree.
I know if I would have followed my heart and desires;
I wouldn’t have made some mistakes that I did.
I wish I would have chased my dreams earlier and felt more encouragement
to do so as a kid.
I know it is safe to say "Do not get caught up in the negativity that will hold you
or drag you down in some way.
It’s too easy to lose all sight
of the good things that keep your day dreams going and to grab on to the lies of the night.
It is great to dream your dreams
and want all goals accomplished,
and it is not always as hard as it seems.
Stay positive, trust, and keep your perspective clear.
Then you will get rewarded while you wait, and that little voice you might hear.
God says He loves to give us the desires of our heart.
So putting Him first and trusting in Him is best,
and from Him we should not part.
Going that route will make it better all around.
Just letting Him work—it will take our desires, heaven bound.
We all want different things and in very different ways,
so let’s trust in the one up there
who so kindly has numbered our days.
I do have to say, I’ve gotten many things I’ve always wanted; and the list is quite long.
God’s shown me that trusting in Him to deliver has been proven to be strong.
He will guide us through life, with such particular care.
As long as we let him,
He’ll always be there.
I ask, though, that you ask Him,
What is His desire, or what is His will?
Ask and seek His guidance,
and your desires He will fulfill.
Birds
Oh, how I’ve learned through the many years to appreciate the birds and often with tears.
Their freedom and beauty can totally amaze me.
I use to think so little of them; I guess before I knew the Lord
and did not understand that feeling of free.
We fill the feeder all the time and know when they respond with each one’s different sound.
I make sure the birdbath is clean with fresh water and put many new seeds on the ground.
We love the wrens, sparrows, chickadees, cardinals, robins, Blue Jays, and doves.
I think my son seeing us care for them so much
is mostly what he loves.
Speaking of love, I know they too have it in them.
They love us humans—kind of like their own too.
I know my Blue Jay loves the peanuts,
and I really love it’s blue.
The chickadees, cardinals, and doves
are the first ones in the yard to arrive.
The color of the cardinals makes me feel so happy and awake and alive.
My husband says to feed them;
he believes is a blessing to God,
and he really enjoys
