About this ebook
Every child grows up in a unique environment, with behaviors tailored to each one according to where they are from, and how each one is trained and raised. Many unruly behaviors are surprisingly caused by the missing fathers in many households.
The ups and downs, sadness and joy, failures and successes in society pose a challenge for everyone growing up, but double is the challenge for the fatherless. This book features the real-life stories of the fatherless, and the choices, decisions, and advices that helped some of them to navigate through the maze of their troubled world.
Embedded in the stories are indirect mild advices for all divided households and single parents.

What is the name of your father?
No answer. This young man in stage four of an elementary school kept turning the pages of a book he had just gotten from the library.
What is your father’s name?
the teacher’s aide asked the question again. And then she added, Let’s finish this project. It has to be addressed to your father. Tomorrow we will make one for your mother.
Just put Frank,
said this energetic young Juan.
Is that your father’s name?
Anna asked.
I don’t have a father,
said Juan. And besides, it’s my mom I am going to give it to anyway.
I was very impressed about his attitude during the conversation.
I once heard him saying to one of the children in class not to worry about not having a father. He told him, I don’t have a father, just like you, but I love my mom so much.
They say a half loaf is better than nothing. Yes, this is very true especially if you have at least someone to hang on when you are down. Someone to talk to after a day’s activities. Someone to call when you are in trouble and someone to laugh with when your day has been well.
Fatherless is not a new word in society. We have known this word for many, many years.
People around the world know this word in their own language.
In America,
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 18.3 million children, 1 in 4, live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home. Consequently, there is a father factor in nearly all social ills facing America today. (U.S. Census Bureau 2020)
Being fatherless can affect anyone, the rich and the poor alike. Being fatherless can come about from many avenues:
Wrong decisions made by some parents.
Enjoyment without borders can create fatherless children.
Illnesses and many diseases without cure can create fatherless children when lives are lost.
Fatal accidents where lives are lost can also create fatherless children.
Irresponsible men and women who love only the enjoyment part of life have created many fatherless children.
The pandemic COVID-19 has also caused many to become fatherless.
It is painful, sad, and sometimes discouraging growing up without a father. Many fatherless children shut off the source of all the good things that they can use to brighten their lot in life and instead develop a complaining, fighting, and blaming spirit.
Fatherless children are most likely to drop out of school because of poor performance.
Fatherless children are more likely to get into trouble with the law. Most of them end up in jail.
Fatherless teenagers make babies they are not ready to provide for, repeating the problem all over again.
Fatherless children have the most emotional and behavioral problems.
Fatherless children are most likely to abuse drugs and alcohol.
Life is more powerful than being fatherless, and where there is life, there is also hope, as goes the saying. Therefore, giving up on your life and deciding not to do anything but make wrong decisions is not a wise course.
Most fatherless children usually have a mom. Single parent, as they are usually called. A loving mother is always there for them.
Being fatherless is not the fault of any child and should not be a reason for failing in life.
So if you happen to be a fatherless child, always take advantage of what you have and use it wisely. Little Juan is already facing the future with a positive attitude, and so can you.
