Once upon a time there was a very poor woman who gave birth to a child. When a little boy was born wrapped in a lucky cloth, it was prophesied that when the boy turned fourteen he would marry the King's daughter.

It happened that after a few days the King passed through the town, without being informed, and when he asked what was new, they replied:

—One day a child was born with a lucky cloth. To whom this happens, luck protects him. They also predicted that at the age of fourteen he would marry the King's daughter.

The King, who was a man with a hard heart, was irritated when he heard the prophecy and, about to look for his parents, he said to them in a very kind tone:

—You are so poor; So leave your son to me, and I'll take care of him.

At first the couple refused, but when the stranger offered them a fine bag of gold, they thought:

«He was born with a good star; So it's for your own good." And finally, they agreed and gave him the child.

The king put it in a box and continued on his way, until he came to the deep bank of a river. He threw the box into the water and thought: This way I will free my daughter from a very unexpected suitor.
