Poetry....: Points of View, in Search of Truth.

Like most books of poetry, they all are a little different, some simple and some hard to understand and this one for sure is unorthodox. Some of these poems are about simplicity, political and technical things. Some about society, life and death, love and hate our birth and beyond. The past, present and the future, some you will like, some you won't, but some of these words will make you think, depending on your point of view.

Perry

Perry was told by his teacher, back when he was in elementary school, that he had a special way with words. Now Perry was not sure what he meant, but never forgot what he was told. He started writing poems in junior high school, and when he got to high school people began to compliment him on his poetry, and he has been writing poems and songs ever since. Now in 2008 Perry had his first book of poems published, and family and friends really like and bought copies from him. However, he never received anything from the publisher, so that was it. Turns out Amazon had still been selling his book until the end ol 202L. Perry had still been writing and has decided to write his second book, Poetry....Points of View, ln Search of Truth.

Embrace Every Positive Moment

Every negative moment, and event in our lifetime are things that we like to forget as soon as we can.

Learning, however can also be a side effect from negativity even though that was not the reason or the plan.

Positive moments and events were the plans we made and when they work, nothing gives us more joy and satisfaction.

In our youth, we take the first steps in defining who we are and who we want to be from kindergarten to twelve, year graduation.

College, the military, a nine to five, or just getting on the road to travel, whatever we chose from that point on can be so deep.

Total appreciation for everything we want to experience can be so positive when we make them happen, a feeling we need to keep.

Your partner for life, so many people never find them, but those who do, somehow, need to understand the gift they have been given.

Perfection in a relationship does not exist but good is always better than bad and there is no goal that can’t be achieved, if by love you are driven.

Looking back to the past and being able to feel moments of happiness, excitement, gratitude and satisfaction is an emotional gift.

Embrace every positive moment that can still happen and keep them in your memory so you can feel them again as time shifts.

I Had to Pay My Dues, Blues

Looking back, I started out at the bottom and had to head for the top,

there were so many walls to break through, and yet I knew I couldn’t stop.

I once heard my stomach ask me, man I am empty, what is the god damn deal,

you better get some food in me, and I don’t care how, beg, borrow, or steal.

My woman had to leave me, because she couldn’t any longer hack being poor,

I said baby I love you; I am going to make it somehow, as she headed out the door.

Every morning, rain or sun shine I had to go to that bull shit job and slave away,

come home tired, and into the night work on my words, that I know I need to say.

One day it all came to pass and every thing I searched for I could finally see,

lonely nights, empty pockets vanished, true love and money, a new life, a reality.

Yes, like the majority of people, no golden spoon in my mouth when I was born,

the moment I understood the rules of the game, there was no respect only scorn.

To live our lives the way we want to means, that it won’t be easy and to pay with many dues,

drive and determination, that’s what makes the poor man rich, powered by the poor man’s blues.

Family

The essence of family can be an emotional reality on so many levels from good to bad and so many steps in between.

Like any other issue in human existence, the first thoughts are points of view from the many, but truth is singular and hard to be seen.

Hatred or disgust from the outside looking in, you would think no family member would see that level of blood line negativity.

And yet it can and does exist from some parents and siblings and if the wrong words are spoken the end of a life can be a reality.

Trust is something that should not be that hard to understand, because its nature is basic in a family or not.

Some family members have no trust because of other’s words or action, right or wrong, but mistrust should stop.

Jealousy and competition are emotional items that can lead to harsh criticisms among family, but no harm done.

In fact, there are many emotions that can lead to actions, but when it comes down to real families, they continue on as one.

Love and understanding are the uniting force that can keep a family together, no matter how much wrong or right.

We just have to admit to ourselves that we are not now, never have

been and never will be perfect, but for the love of family we will fight.

Pet Evolution

Looking back in history there are endless questions about the development of the human race, with different answers facts and fiction time after time.

How was it started that certain animals like dogs, cats, birds, even a few harmless rodents could become pets for us, with interactions with their and our minds.

At the start of our basic living, the human kind had to figure out and understand what they could and could not eat and drink to stay healthy and alive.

Plants for sure, with just basic intuition, what kind and how much, but maybe it was observation of other kinds of animals of what they eat to survive.

Animals at some point must have been the key and like those who did not eat their own kind, would hunt and kill some bigger some smaller but other breeds.

Cave people could have figured out how to make a sharp pointy stick they could use to hunt and kill animals in the forest, fish in the lakes, and birds in the trees.

The eating of some animals, but not all, must have grown accustomed to the early human kind, but also using some animals to help do things must have been next.

On some levels all animals, and maybe even insects have emotions and intelligence, these had to be some of the issues that led to the beginning of pets.

I can imagine the first man or woman, being out of the cave for a century or two and they are walking and maybe even talking to their pet cat or dog.

Now throughout the whole world, all kinds of animals or pets, some gentle, some vicious, horses, fish, birds, tigers, even some we still eat like turkeys and hogs.

So, the real reason for this poem are my daughter’s (Reva) pet dogs one is really small with one hell of a big barking mouth, Coco, the other one is Kronos, a husky.

These dogs have their own personalities but kronos is one of the most playful, smart, strange eyed looking dog I have
