    TOKEN OF APPRECIATION

The Dancing Elephants Book Project has taken final shape and is now being published.

As an editor of Dancing Elephants Press, I would like to give a token of appreciation to the people who have been working hard to make the book successful.

My thanks are due first to our Chief Editor Lady Dr. Gabriella Kőrösi. The idea of book was conceived by her. She was able to get 21 people from different countries and diverse backgrounds. She selected them by giving the people a fair chance by writing how they were eligible for the book.

The selection was free of gender, race or nationality and the writers were selected on their merit to suit the needs of the book.

She has worked on the book tirelessly from the beginning. She has done the organization of the book, given prompts and final edits to each writer and finally the whole book.

I appreciate her wholeheartedly for this immense support to all the editors and writers of the book on wellness.

I would like to place a token of appreciation for Vidya Sury (Collecting Smiles) for supporting Dr. Kőrösi by writing prompts, editing, and publishing them. On completion of all the prompts, she edited the whole book.

I would like to thank Lorena Abila Jaimes (Sharing Randomly) for writing prompts, editing, and publishing them. She has also looked after the images of the book.

I must mention here that the book was reviewed by Leonard Tillerman, a distinguished writer on Medium who has selflessly done this task for us.

Finally, a token of appreciation to all the writers of the Book without whom the work could not have been completed.

    Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles

When blooms gather, they form a beautiful and fragrant bouquet. That is how I see the Dancing Elephants Press Book - a coming together of a talented group of writers pledged to spread positivity through their beautiful words. I am privileged to be one of them. I am doubly honored to be one of the editors of the book with the precious duty of fine-tuning the book, which I think is destined to touch the heart of anyone who reads it.

I am grateful to my family, my friends, and every soul that has touched me in this life. Most of all I am grateful to my mom for giving me the gift of education, for being my mentor, for instilling important life lessons in me, and for teaching me to always see the good in people and situations. I am grateful to my team and especially to Gabriella for coming up with such a brilliant idea for a book!

    💜

    Jennifer Dunne

Thank you to the Elephant Press editors and fellow authors. It’s been such a pleasure to read the different takes on the topics. I lost count of the times I said, "Wow, I never would have thought of that!" By bringing together diverse authors, discussing the same topics, the editors have created something unique in the self-improvement space. It was a big, daring step, and I’m so glad you invited me on the journey. I’d also like to thank my ever-supportive husband, and the friends and folks who went out of their way to help when our relocation to another country almost didn’t happen. The world is filled with wonderful people.

    Bingz Huang

Thank you, dear Gabriella, Vidya, Lorena. I am profoundly touched by your support, patience, and generosity. It was a soulful journey for me to keep unearthing new gems of wisdom that are grounded in my personal experiences.

Thank you, my fellow co-authors. I love learning from the rich creativity, and soulful and practical wisdom through reading your articles based on the same writing prompts. This is definitely a book I will keep re-reading and share with pride!

    Libby Shiverly McAvoy

Thank you so much to Gabriella and all of the editors of Dancing Elephants Press. It has been such an honor to be a part of this inspiring collaboration with such talented writers from around the globe. I also want to thank Medium Online Publication— if it were not for that platform, I would not have made such wonderful connections. It has opened doors I never dreamed possible. Finally, I would like to thank my friends and family for their support. Especially my two children Morgan and Corwin who continue to teach and inspire me daily, and my life partner, Jon who accepts me, flaws, and all,

and provides me a safe space where I can be my authentic self. My mom always used to say, it takes a village and she was correct. Life can get very difficult, but knowing I have a positive support group sure makes it easier.

    Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar

My daughter Oishi and my two nieces Isha and Tia are the joy of my life. I am thankful to some of my closest friends for encouraging me to keep writing. Preface

    Moments Surrounding Humanity

What does positivity mean to you?

I woke up this morning and was able to open my eyes. I felt the coolness of the morning breeze on my skin. I felt the sensations of everything around me. I looked outside and saw the blooming flowers, taking in the lush greenery of the ferns and trees surrounding me. I slowly walked to the kitchen stepping over a sleeping dog. I can walk. I can use energy and make hot water to make a wonderful cup of wild blueberry tea and a lovely cup of coffee. I can smell the berries coming alive in the hot water. I can taste the summer breeze when the wild blueberries were picked. I feel the joy of the sunrays as I drink my tea sip by sip. I can smell the aroma of the freshly brewed coffee. I can use a spoon and add a teaspoon of ground cocoa to my coffee. I can feel the taste of the dark cocoa gods on my lips.

I can see the cocoa beans dancing in the sun, being picked, transported, ground, to end up in my kitchen. I feel grateful and delighted that I get to have the experience at my fingertips of the aroma and the taste of a beautiful liquid drink that originated tens of thousands of miles away and made it to me so I can enjoy the taste and the feeling of the world right here, at this moment on this lovely March morning.

This is what positivity means to me. Enjoying the things, we have. Being grateful for what we have in our life. Being hopeful for the future.

Looking at the present moment and thinking . . . this is it. This is what we have now. To immerse ourselves in the feeling, the taste, the movement of what this moment has to offer.

Be open with your mind to rise beyond the consciousness of humanity. Travel farther than you have ever come before. Open your eyes and your heart, go to the light, and remember where you began. Think of the moments before you begin. The formation of the cells within your mother’s womb. The love and the joy surrounding the creation of the cells that created you. Feel the cells within your body remembering the formation that becomes you. Wake up the sensations, the smell, the feeling of floating before being born to his world. Now we are here today. The here and the now. At this moment.

Positive and hope strike my heart as I think of those suffering at this moment. Love and joy is all we need to remember who we are to bring humanity together for peace stand up against war. Give this moment to support those that need it the most. We are all together and interconnected.

I am you and you begin where I begin, and we all continue together in everything. Humanity as a whole is part of us. Thank you for the life we have together. Humanity, we all come together for peace. All they need is each other. Let’s open our minds and open our hearts and remember that we all come from the energy that is within everyone and everything around us in this universe.

We have to pull all of us together to bring peace to this world. Bring the united energy flow and support to help out those who are suffering and send them all the love from every part of our being from this consciousness and beyond.

We have to remember we've been here before.  We need to go back to our minds into the depths of our being, into who we are, to bring out the energy and send it to everything and everyone around us for peace and love and joy for all of humanity.

That is what positivity means to me.

Bringing everyone and everything together. Going forward in life with love and kindness and support for each other, and everything and everyone around us.

We are all created from the same elements. We have our genetic makeup that creates a human being and inside we have all of our traits that identify the color of our skin, the shape of our body, the color and texture of our hair, the type of hair we grow out of our body surfaces.

The water we drink becomes part of our body. The air we breathe becomes part of our body flowing through our lungs creating oxygen in our molecules and helping our blood flow through our heart to all parts of our body. This is the same process for every human being. We all need air to breathe. We all need water and food to survive. We all need each other to be here, today at this moment, at this specific time.

In conclusion, to me, positivity means everything and everyone around me. The moments that fill my walking hours of every single day. Standing together and being in the present embracing the connections built in my environment and with my fellow human beings.

Thank you for being here and reading this book. I hope you will enjoy this journey.

What does it truly mean to be positive?

What is positivity to you? I can imagine that you may have a different take on the meaning, or it can be similar to mine. First and foremost, the uniqueness of everyone’s background can determine what we think. There can be so many perspectives and yet they want to have something in common, something better.

If you analyze it, you can see something from a positive side but what do we need to have as a prerequisite? We can be in certain situations where everything seems so dark, so hostile. Maybe that is what you need, to later on see the positive side.

Imagine being a person that always has great things happen to them. That’s great and I would totally feel happy for them but . . . how would they learn? How would they know better?

It feels so pessimistic to say this, and I also think it’s true. Not all days are perfect. Not all moments in life are. That is why WE need to change our own mindset. You can’t change the world, and you can definitely change how you think about it and what you do.

You firstly have to think that it’s OKAY. Some people even deny their current situations, and this can be very detrimental. It’s OKAY to feel however you feel. Now the biggest challenge of them all is to analyze how you would really want to feel. What would you change? Can you, do it? Then do ahead!

People can sense positivity when they mention that things could be worse. Is that truly being positive? If you think about it, ANYTHING could be worse! There are situations in which you can’t even imagine being in them yourself, and yet, unfortunately, these life situations exist.

I suggest not using this kind of mentality as this way you are just focusing on every possible wrong situation. Think about you, about YOUR situation. Get rid of the It could be worse motto and truly seek the positive aspects within.

And that is why I would suggest having your one and only Happy Place. How would you like to be in that space in your mind? Tranquil, calm, at ease? Then do it! From every point of view, all of the harsh situations have their good points. Focus on THAT!

Here is a recent example. I used to work in a retail company in the architectural team. I was hired as a trainee but later on, became the leader of different tasks. I was amazed at how much I was learning and the results of the projects. I was so proud of myself but then . . . I was fired. They told me I was the least to be affected and they had to do so because of the pandemic as they were having financial problems.

I was devastated. I couldn’t believe it. I was torn. Yet again, who said that positivity can shine through without the difficult situations? I dedicated some time to feeling down. Yes. I did. I also think that we are all humans and it’s OKAY to feel like this. Always having a smile on your face is naturally unnatural.

There you had me, feeling down and unaccomplished. But I had enough. I wanted to do something. I couldn’t be just laying around. I got to do so many things I wanted to do before but never had the time. I could do any hobby! Painting, knitting, bookbinding, writing, sports, you name it! I was fulfilling a part that was missing. I found new passions and as I was doing so, I was being truly and immensely positive.

I learned that we can be and do lots of things as they all make us who we are. All of this experience is in the present moment, and I am looking at the positive side of it all.

What would you do? How would you tackle this situation if it was you?

That is why people tend to associate kids with this mindset. They can immediately look at the bright side of everything. They don’t try to convince themselves about the good of it all. Children are able to do so because they are more carefree. That is another reason many people tend to say; Let your inner child shine. It can be so refreshing!

Do you have any drama in your life? Are you overstressing about things? Do your routines bother you? Can you change it? Then go ahead!

Look on the bright side as you did when you were younger!

These are some of my opinions about positivity, how about yours? Do you agree with me, or do you see it from a different perspective?

And remember, you can’t change the entire world, but you can change yours. Your mindset is all destined to work as you wish. Take control and make it yours.

    Positivity

The Connection Between Life and Positivity

    by Dr. Gabriella Kőrösi

Positiveness can often be hard to come by. Life can be challenging—sometimes it pulls us up and other times it throws us down. The idea of being here, being here on earth, receiving the gift to experience life—it's truly amazing.

I am going back to the notion that I am here today, and you are here today. We are all here together on this earth to experience whatever is good and bad. This is the core that can bring us back to a positive and grateful attitude. Positivity is more than just creating an outlook. It is a way of being. I am here today. That is all that matters. I am here. We go from there. There are many days that life can be
