    Dedication

This book is dedicated to you, my readers, and to the Holy Spirit, who inspired it!

To you, my reader, because it will take great spiritual strength to rise again and shake the dust off. If you stay the course, He will make it where you can’t help but thank Him in the end.

To the Holy Spirit, because He has given me great strength to rise again and shake the dust off when just committing suicide would have been much easier than trudging through all the mud to get to where I am today. But I cannot help but thank Him that I did not give up and let Him help me make it to where I am today. I have so much to be thankful and grateful for, and I am! If it were not for the Holy Spirit, I would not be here today writing this book; another story would be being told.

    Acknowledgements

I want to thank my husband, who reached out his hand to help me make this work of God possible! Below is a response he sent back to me in an email after he read this book.

What an inspired work. Well done, baby girl. I finished my edits. I was not able to divide the book into chapters due to the way the Holy Spirit writes. Much the same way He wrote the Bible. That’s why they had to put verses to the text. This book was inspirational, and I’m not the same after reading it. I like that, and so will others.

    —Kevin Joe Ward

Kevin Joe Ward is my husband of forty years at the writing of this book. He is known by friends and family as Joe; these were his personal words to me after editing the book for me. He had no idea that his words would ever be seen.

Thank you, Joe, for all your hard work to help me make this happen and for having my back on spelling and proper use of all the commas, exclamation marks, periods, and so forth.

I am so blessed that this book has been so inspirational to you.

    Foreword

We have all done things that we regret, that we look back on and feel ashamed of.

I don’t know what a caterpillar’s past life was like, but it crawls up a tree, makes a cocoon around its body, and dies to itself, then it is metamorphized into something beautiful, and it flies away as a new creature!

Having Jesus come into your life is very similar to this, only on the outside you still look similar, but the person on the inside is not you, the old you! Once this new-creature transformation takes place, your old friends may not like the new you; they will say things like, What’s gotten into you? You used to be the life of the party! I don’t even know you anymore, Oh, so now you think you’re too good for us!

It’s because your inward desires have changed. Now you desire to be clean, holy, pure, and just, and the things you once did you no longer desire anymore; things from the inside out begin to lose their grip! Smoking, drinking, cussing, carousing around, lying, stealing, and so on—you just don’t want to do them anymore; you become a new creature from the inside out, a new person! You realize God absolutely loves you, that He paid a great price to make a way of escape for you! And even if once you come to Him and fall, He still loves you, so get up and shake the dust off. He still loves you, and it ain’t over until you win! He has made every provision for you to rise again!

The world is a cold and cruel place. It’s the devil’s playground, and the people in it are his mouthpiece and his hands. Once you’ve turned to God and accepted His Son and the Holy Spirit, he uses those people to speak evil against you, he blocks your path, and he reminds you of your past! God still loves you!

If you will rise up, shake the dust off, and look to God again, He will wet your clay and mold you once again—anew!

In Japan, when a vessel is broken, the potter never throws it away; it becomes more valuable than it was before. The potter molds it back together with fine silver or gold, making it stronger than before. The veins of silver or gold that run through those broken vessels look so beautiful and desirable, they now become vessels fit for the finer. They become the masterpieces at the table. This is the art of Kintsugi (golden repair).

You are the vessel, and how broken you are doesn’t matter. God will make you new again, more beautiful than ever before. Rise up and walk. The Master has a plan!

    Preface

Let your heart receive the love that God has for you. You are getting ready to see that no matter how far you have fallen from grace, God still loves you, and He knew long before you messed up that you would. It did not come as a surprise to our God.

Through my mess-ups—and I do mean mess-ups, big time—I have learned the hard way that God loves me, and no matter what, He has made provision to spare me from the harm of my past. He gave me a life past the mess-ups, a life worth living, to be able to do the impossible and walk past the guilt and shame of it all and receive a new life divine. I know I don’t deserve it, but that is the beauty of our God.

I was severely teased and abused by the people with whom I went to school, and lots of other people, as well, even through my adult years. I hold no grudges, and I have been so far removed from it through the redemption of Jesus that it is as if this story belongs to someone else.

When I look back at my life, I see God has always been there. Even though I did not know Him by any other name except God, I believed in Him and cried out to Him. He showed me many things, including events before they happened so that I would be prepared. This was all while I was an imperfect child, undeserving, and I only knew Him by one name!

Recently I had a dream, and in the dream, God told me that He’s always loved me, even before the foundation of the world, long before He ever even created man!

A God who loves us that much loves us even in our mess. That is why He sent Jesus; He knew we would fall again and again, that we could never really say, I got this! Children fall, Christians fall, and nowhere in the Bible does God ever refer to us as adults; we are His children, and Jesus said, You must become as little children.

The secret is to repent, receive, and move on with our lives.

When children fall or mess up, they get back up, and soon they forget all about it! They put their eyes to the future and what lies ahead; as they get older, they are taught to get bogged down with the past of guilt and shame, and they have a hard time moving forward because their rearview mirror has become bigger than the windshield in front of them. God says, "Turn around! What lies ahead of you is your
