Divine Sovereignty x Human Control

This is a complex matter. Looking back at your life experiences up to this point, can you tell me how many were determined by God and how many were the result of human choices?

There are three viewpoints in relation to this. Some will say that all life experiences are determined by the Lord. Others will say that life is completely guided by the free will of humans, that is, the result of choices. There are still those who search for balance in this discussion, claiming that the Creator changes circumstances and that humans will reap the fruits according to how they respond to these circumstances.

My intention is not to create a theological debate here. Far from it! However, we must work with what we see at the present moment. We know that God’s sovereignty, above everything and all, is much greater than the limited minds of human beings can comprehend. We also know that, seemingly, we can choose, with a certain level of freedom, the path we want to follow.

The Word clearly shows us both sides of the coin. We have, as an example, chapter 139 of Psalms and chapter 6 of Galatians.

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. - Psalms 139:16

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. - Galatians 6:7

Well, if my days were established by God, how will I reap what I have planted? Complex, right? Yes, complex for us, but simple for the Lord of all things. The truths of the spiritual world are like that... get used to it.

Let’s try to analyse this enigma using logic that could be flawed, but is enough for the time being. God sees
