Introduction

Welcome to the Step by Step through the Book of Revelation Study Guide! This small group curriculum was developed to answer the difficult questions regarding the Book of Revelation, one of the most intriguing yet most misunderstood books in the Bible. Can its prophecies be understood? We argue that God desires for us to know what the Book of Revelation says to us today and that many of its fulfilled prophecies can be grasped when we take a chronological look at its content. (You may also do this study on your own and read the corresponding transcripts of the programs in the links provided.)

Throughout this study, we will refer to a learning tool we call the three pillars. As you’ll discover, these three pillars represent three major areas of biblical prophecy waiting to be fulfilled. As we investigate these pillars together, we’ll be able to place the various aspects of Revelation together in a timeline that will help explain the events that will unfold in a user-friendly manner.

Along the way, we’ll also refer to several Scripture passages throughout the rest of the Bible to help explain the teachings of Revelation. Of course, in five weeks we cannot cover every detail of this magnificent book, but we can provide a framework for a lifetime of study. Rather than looking at Revelation as a confusing book, you will be able to say you understand its central message and long for the fulfillment of God’s plan for eternity.

We look forward to how this study will help you both better understand your own Christian faith and how it will help you in sharing your faith with others. Through it, we hope you will be better able to contend for the faith (Jude 3) as well as to show Christ’s love to those in need.
